aaronyoji 2,054
i think its a little general to automatically hear "oh this is about the black lives matter movement" from a general listener, BUT i think the message is powerful and poignant enough to be about it, and also the general gun tragedies that have affected other communities. its topical yet timeless and still a great song. Especially If she decides to really get graphic, I think the dialogue should continue. Continue to make everyone uncomfortable. Acknowledge the issues and find a solution which is true peace and respect for all. I agree and disagree to an extent. I'm all for love for everyone but Gaga herself specifically said the song was inspired by the Trayvon Martin shooting. Also the killings of unarmed citizens, especially youth in this case, is an issue that shouldn't be swept under the rug. But the visuals for the videos can reflect all things wrong going on in the world. So that's where I agree with you. My thought is I dont see BLM movement staning for this song, so the song would make better if anyone in the world could relate to it... All monsters are human, you are a monster. migamiga 12,102
The sad part is that BLM is seen as "controversial". What's wrong with people sticking up for themselves? As for Gaga, I doubt she cares. Controversy to her is like breathing for us

No one gives a **** about this song but Gaga and monsters. At least, it will get people talking. I doubt this will happen though. Well, to be fair, this thread was inspired by what I saw on social media from those that were discussing what Gaga said about the song. There was some division amongst fans, casuals, and of course haters, so I thought this thread would be a good topic to discuss. It's unfortunate that there are some who are taking the song that way but overall I doubt it will be mostly bad.
Edonis 28,950
So apparently hate has already started with Beyoncé fans. Do you think the GP and non twitter stans are going to care or no?
