L E O 6,035
Omg guys, it's LITERALLY called DELUXE EDITION. 6 minutes ago, CrazyMonster said: What's the difference? There was a foil edition but it's not the deluxe edition. ARTPOP only has one edition that has 15 tracks (Foil or not), I don't count remixes as bonus songs or deluxe songs. The DVD of the iTunes Festival. I know it's not a deluxe edition in the usual sense, with bonus tracks, but yet it is a deluxe edition. It's additional content, so yeah. And I don't know about the US, but it was release pretty much everywhere else.

Yeah but I don't see it as a deluxe edition if there's no new songs that comes with it. ‘If religion be the cause of disunity, then irreligion is surely to be preferred.’ ‘Abdu’l-Bahá
L E O 6,035
Here's a definition of deluxe edition I found online: In terms of musical albums, the term "deluxe edition" refers to a re-release of an album, generally a sufficient period after the initial release, featuring extra content related to the album. This often includes some or all of the following: extra tracks; demo recordings of album tracks; live recordings of album tracks; alternate takes, mixes, or edits of album tracks; B-sides from album singles that did not appear on the album; DVD content, including music videos. These editions are commonly repackaged, with the new content on a second disc and many feature additional liner notes. Also, some albums are initially released in two editions, a regular retail version and a "special" or "limited" version in distinctive packaging and often including extras such as a second disc, a video DVD, or liner notes expanded into a hardback book. Generally, the special package is only produced for the first pressing or a set number of copies - some are limited to only being sold at one chain of retailers. It is important to distinguish this from an expanded re-release, since those are generally available widely and for a long period of time. So yeah. But I see why people could think it is not a deluxe edition. Except it is. And back to topic: I am SO mad that Joanne doesn't have another cover. She seems to have tons of pic for the era, don't tell me they couldn't pick another. Or even from the same shoot, but with a different angle or something. As a collectionner, it's really underwhelming.

In the US for example as far as I know, the only version that had extra content was the Walmart version which underwent the worst censoring I've ever head, and it only had like one or two Applause remixes tacked on. And it wasn't foil. ACK i just noticed "HIT SINGLE VENUS" Actually, There is a foil edition of the Walmart version, but as far as I remember it was only sold in stores during Black Friday. I have this version, censored cover, horrible editing, 2 applause remixes, but it has a foil cover and came with a slip inside to download a free digital copy (redundant if you have a CD drive in your computer). I paid $7.50 for it on Black Friday 2013 at Walmart. I remember seeing one or 2 on ebay for some ridiculous price shortly after.

But yeah, I was a cackling mess while listening to the censored version one time. "X Dreams" and "Jewels n *****"
Gagz 2,579
The Fame Monster used both covers for both versions. There wasn't a designated deluxe and standard cover.
PerfectGypsy 929
I think with an album like Joanne, the cover is definitive. Just adding 2 extra songs doesn't change the record. I prefer just the one.

"X Dreams" and "Jewels n *****" Yeah, I already had the unedited version at the time and just bought the Walmart one for the novelty and for the bonus remixes, I figured aside from the artwork, the only thing that would be muted was the couple of times the F bomb was used. I definitely wasn't expecting the music to be as hacked up as it was, censoring words like Sex, Drugs, and Touch, lol.
