I think it's absolutely beautiful.

The fact we call her "Mother Monster", and she literally makes a song called "Come To Mama", with lyrics basically....SINGING right to us..... Could you all imagine her singing this beautiful creation to us at the ball?

This song is her message to us to stop fighting with each other, and not just us Monsters, the world....

Exactly. We need more love in this world. So many have said it's creepy I call her mama but if you really think about it, she did "give birth" to us in a way. We were created in her image to spread her message of love and acceptance.

I love you monsters. I'd be unfixably broken without you

Underrated. Very doo-wop I actually love it.

I had such a surreal moment with this song today. I was driving downtown with my windows down playing the album, and as this came on I passed by a group of Black Lives Matters protesters across from the courthouse, something I had never seen before in my small town. I threw an I Love You in sign language their way while I passed.

But anyway, this song is a total jam and such a cool style for Gaga.

The Temptations meets Dolly Parton.

So adorable. I can picture her singing this at her Malibu home with her chickens singing the backup vocals.

I kind of love this track *ducks*

I grew up listening to classic oldies on the radio with my Dad in the car. For my birthday my Mom got me this pink little radio, and I wrote my name (Emily) on it. And I used to lay in my bed and listen to classic stations.

This song totally sounds like 50s/60s era Phil Spector pop. It sounds like one of the Christmas pop songs from those eras. I can totally understand why people would be turned off by the cheesy lyrics and he shmalzty sound. Because that was the sound of that era. It was naive, it was over dramatic, it was sentimental.

The production of this song absolutely nails that sound to a T. And so that is why I'm impressed with it.

My only gripe is that like a-yo and perfect illusion, this song is completely out of place musically with the rest of the album. It breaks from the albums overall music style.

So I totally get why someone wouldn't like this song. But I've seen a lot of people not like it. As I said in another thread - I'm curious if people full on hate the song and think it's bad. Or if they would like the song if it was in a different context (so if she put out an EP or album full of 50/60s Phil Spector era pop).

FYI for everyone saying it's a message about her role as mother monster, it's not; the song was first penned by Father John Misty and his original demo is available

Oriane

My favorite one of the album. Very unexpected, and not like anything she did before, but it's great. It makes me feel instantly good. I'd love to use it in a movie someday.

Probably one of the best songs on the album!

I don't get people saying it's christmas themed :what:

They can't scare me, if I scare them first.
