TheKillerQueen 1,983
SP and MR are straight up country songs. Atleast from what we heard at the dive bar. Lace up my boots, throw on some leather and cruise.

It sounds unbearably country because of that ridiculous southern twang Gaga sings in and fails so spectacularly at. Ahem, "Ridiculous Southern twang" could be found offensive by people like me, who actually have a noticeable "Southern twang." lol

We just have to wait and before we can judge anything Yeah true! The studios are bound to have more kick and layers to them. The audio recording for the Nashville gig was pretty poor really -- couldn't 100% make out what she was singing. Dunno if it is just my opinion? Shania Twain was from ****ing Canada, but at least she could sound authentic.

I could still hear the essence of her Northern, New York-y accent come through at times. I was skeptical of the Country direction when I heard the album would feature it (I wasn't happy with You and I), but overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the music and the performance, even with the shoddy audio at times. JohnnyVersace 9,029
Honestly, you can't deny the country influence tho. That's just stanning and defending her without reason. Most everything performed last night sounds like some psychedelic mashup of Lana Del Rey and the Dixie Chicks.
Sister 9,907
Most of it honestly sounds country flavored and I don't like any of it. Perfect Illusion is the only song that I really like so far and that worries me. I like Gaga herself, so I am not going anywhere, but I feel like this album may be a complete miss for me. These songs that I have heard so far are all just lukewarm and totally forgetful for me. They could be songs by artists who I would never even bother questioning who they are or what their discography consist of. These songs sound very light rock / pop, adult station, stations that play all genres as long as it's light listening, from religious to country and one hit wonder throwaways. I do like that Gaga has stepped out of herself and gone for something surprising and different. I like that she is showing growth, even if I am not thrilled by the album. I feel like Gaga needs to do things like this to solidify herself as a great and lasting artist, a lot of people just toe the line and remain in their safe zone and get completely stale and predictable, so Gaga has shown that she wants to explore and not be painted into a characterization of herself and all that she has done before. The future's uncertain and the end is always near.

2ndTimeAround 664
People think it's country because gaga in the last 4 albums has used piano and synths. Guitars were more scarce throughout her albums so these are huge guitar tracks and everybody be like FarmGa is truly here

What if she chooses a different set of songs for each of the three cities, depending on the song's genre?
