I dont get how people are so obsessed with the charts tbh ?

how does it make you feel better ? i seriously dont get it !!?

what about the song ?

what makes you hate it or love it ? the fact that its on the charts cant seriously be the main reason !

cmon, gangnam style, harlem shake and selfie (etc) were on top for a long a** time .... are they even good or atleast "ok"

im so confused with ggd these days..... not cool...

She is delivering what I want from Gaga :) Loving this era so far

The only reason this fanbase is divided is because you actually expect stuff from gaga. When did we ever expect from gaga? She is the definition of unexpected:firega:  You all have this image in your brains of what gaga is. You have her inside this box, and she is not allowed to come out of this box. She is only allowed to do one thing, and that is create songs like BR, Just Dance ect. in this box. Many of you hated the C2C era as she stepped outside the box to do something that she wanted to do. And now we are in 'Joanne' era.

Million Reasons is not a song you would here in a club. I don't think you could dance to it either. Does that matter? No. It is a wonderful piece of music created by Gaga and Hilary Lindsey, a piece of art that has touched so many people already.

Perfect Illusion is an amazing tune! I really like it, I think this era would be one of the best she has ever done :) And it does not matter one bit where her songs are in the charts.

Just my opinion:reductive:

Isn't it awful that the actual Gaga fans (at least this era) are leaving this site to make place for all those who have nothing but criticism to spew?

Yeah I'm sorry but I prefer spending more time studying for my exam rather than read the same bullshites over and over:creepflop:

REALITY

It's sort of ironic because she said that she wanted this music and this album to bring people together with music.

Honestly though, if people don't like it, then they just won't like it. It's definitely okay to not like something, but you also need to release the circumstances: Gaga's changing and evolving, making trendy pop music is not what you're going to get with this album; and that Gaga's going to be much more authentic and personal on this album.

If you don't like something, sure, okay, but you also need to remember what she's going through in her life today and how that's affecting her music.

You cant say perfect illusion flopped. It may still be in the charts in December who knows it wont be a flop then. Calling something a flop after a couple of weeks is insane. Gaga singles always grow

No they don't, they all always are pretty successful from the offset :/

I'm not excited about anything she does at all :toofunny:

At first I thought I just grew up, but this has just been a series of dissapointments... I'm starting to lose the interest in her... such a shame

It makes me laugh at all the young folk who said I must "grow up" since I don't like the new music. They think they have matured as they are not kids anymore and it's a natural progression to like the new music that gaga is releasing currently  I'm 35 now and I loved the gaga of TFM and BTW and I just really like good pop/rock music. Do the large group of fans in their early twenties not realise that there has been pop music years before they even started to listen to music? I have listened to music since the the late 80s and I've stanned for thousands of records. Just because I don't like this record doesn't mean I'm immature and that  I must stan  "bubble gum pop" as most folk here tell me to back and listen to. They think they are so grown up now and it's just laughable. I'm pretty sure I have more experience than most of the fans on here to realise what is a good record and I have seen pop stars come and go and be dropped like a ton of bricks when the songs are simply not good enough.   I also love rock music especially from the 90s and early 2000s so it's not because I love "bubble gum pop", it's because I just simply like good records.  I'm afraid Joanne will not be for me

This entire forum is completely poisoned with desires of commercial success and vapid popularity. Like, poisoned to the very core. Nothing here can be appreciated without first passing through the filter and approval of charts. Anyone willing to just sit and listen to the music Gaga is releasing would realize how genuine and beautiful music she's giving us. But the music by itself has absolutely no meaning anymore.
It's incredibly distressing to see what the Gaga fanbase has become. At least for me it is :emma:

Yes. MTE. They're ruining the music for everybody. Like now I can't listen to PI withought the unexplainable bitter feeling that it isn't a smash hit, even though I listen to tons of music that doesn't even chart. I'm enjoying the purity of Million Reasons now but in some time it'll be ruined by the millions of chart and flop threads I'll see. Maybe GGD really isn't the place for Gaga fans.

I meant that I grew up from stanning and being overtly excited about her :laughga: Not from the music point of view... this summer I travelled in the US and didn't have time to follow every word she said and I found out I didn't miss that... my priorities shifted, I think I did grow up mentally (first long-term out of home experience), so at first I thought that I just became more calm, but then I realized that I don't like her new music, especially after yesterday :toofunny: Yeap, Gaga used to be my #1 topic all day every day, and now Grand Canyon took her place on my home screen :laughga:

To the point, when I disliked BTW I made myself like it cause I couldn't bare the idea of my top singer dissapointing me

Now, 5 years later, I fully accept that I don't like the new stuff, she's not the center of the universe, you know :excuseu:

That's what growing up is, in my oppinion :)

I really shouldn't of quoted you. Totally agree with you on your last point. When you stan for someone you do get a bit biased and as you said you forced to like BTW. Many fans on here will realise when they actually grow up that the music they thought they loved just wasn't good at all. Experienced it many times as I'm 35.

Problem is music is subjective. The person who listens to it, will think differently depending on what time in their life they're in. Gaga is probably focused on the country sound, because that's where she currently is.

What i'm trying to say is: You might be 65 and say certain music is bad. But the very idea of saying certain music is bad, without even giving yourself any reasons as to why you personally think so. Really goes to show how little you have grown.

The beautiful twist about human psychy just is that people rarely grow permanently. They will have times where they go back to hating stuff that dosen't fit their taste, and they will have times where they don't feel the need to focus on it.

I never said it was bad. I just wanted to put across the point that some fans on here seem to think they have grown just because they are biased and suddenly like the country vibe instead of pop music. No need to insult me in a passive aggressive way.

I just want to notice that I'm not giving away my personal opinion about her music on this thread. My words on this thread don't reflect my opinion on the subject, I'm just trying to create discussion. It is a fact that this forum and this era have been conflicting. To say that this era is polarizing doesn't mean I'm not enjoying the music.

Yes, we are supposed to enjoy the music. But apparently lots of fans around here are not enjoying it as they wanted to. Why be rude about it?

Gaga is not selling Diet Gatorade, whatever that means, but she is a full artist and all of us in Gagadaily are fans who want to like what she does.

Don't need to be rude. Being rude is worse than not liking Gaga's new music.
