AlphaMonster 1,806
Yes, Born This Way is the most important song of her career in my opinion... Madonna's Like A Prayer = Lady Gaga's Born This Way. I want clear live guitar like it is in this performance.

I have no unhealthy attachment to Born This Way. Oh dear lord, I love you sis, but the replies write themselves. Basically, you're saying you were "born" into the post-BTW era. You have no idea the significance this song holds on mainstream GP culture in pushing forward the acceptance of gay rights in the eyes of the GP. You were blessed with the fruits of its labor before you were even old enough to know the difference. There's nothing "unhealthy" about being attached to it, it's a simple cultural fact. No tea, no shade (I still love you, @Seeka, sis!!), but you are out of bounds on this one, hun!

I accept all that, but you must also realize that it was this same song that invited self-entitled teenagers into the fandom. We had crazies before then, but we didn't have this many egotistical people. And that was the true birth of little managers. We had just as many bad things to come with the good. Also, just as a song, it is not her best. Is it built for singles? yes. Does it's cultural signifigance and single worthiness make it her best song out of her entire discography? Not really. but yeah I was gay and out before Born This Way, and Born This Way didn't really do much. I loved the song and its message, but it's not something to be played at the superbowl. It's one of her biggest songs and it's the cornerstone of her advocacy and image. Exactly. That song will always hold a very special place in my heart. Haha I always changed the meaning of "my mama told me when I was young" to mean gaga because she became a "mom" figure in my life as my bio mom wasn't there. I love you monsters. I'd be unfixably broken without you
badgalriri 1,124
i honestly dont think gaga cares if she causes a controversy by singing a song about a topic that means so much to her

AlexanderLevi2 5,849
Why is everyone so up in arms about BTW?! I see everyone on here bashing Gaga about being too safe with PI and now are telling her she SHOULD be safe. Gaga is all about telling us to get out there and not give a **** and I think the same should be for her during the halftime show. Play BTW, who cares about the "backlash" about a song that promotes equality and positive self esteem. The people who freak out about it are the ones in the wrong Currently listening to Joanne

Well.....so much for the relentless efforts of gay activists for the past four decades, and the AIDS epidemic. I guess our acceptance boils down to a pop song. DO YOU LIVE IN A BAR?
