I don't think anyone can understand your point of view since it sets every human rights movement back fifty years, at least.

This isn't some roleplay where I can say "Please use anime pictures because I find real ones weird" or a dating service where I can say "no old men please". This is about people using religious statements which another person may or may not believe in, to not only turn away away service, but firing those that don't meet up with their religious doctorine and preventing hiring by the same reasoning.

Like no one can understand you because we don't want our own rights, services, and other things taken away from us. This does that. Like why would you support this. there is no amount of changing this statement that will make it good.

Not to mention this isn't taking anything from teh privately owned businessnes. Nothing. Actually if this gets enacted it will most likely destroy some small businesses as pro-LGBT people will never shop there, and will refuse too and like uggh, you'll never understand.

Also if an anti-lgbt small business  gets destroyed then they deserve that. And I can also say you'll  never understand. I understand your stance but I personally think it is illogical

Thats fine but you must understand that everything you say about me and every comment is invalid and useless unless you actually make the argument. And im not here to please Gaga or her fans..

So you don't believe in human rights? That can be your opinion, but mine is that your opinion is disgusting.

We, in the context of this thread, refers to the US. The US does try to actively make laws and work towards equality. You are not part of we, thank goodness!

I dont want to be part of the US as I do not believe in boarders or countries.. I do however believe in western values which you are the one against. I do support human rights and part of supporting human rights is supporting the freedom of the individual and thats what im defending.

Welp I'm gay and black and I kind of support this stance. Don't get me wrong..... I still hate Trump.

STFU

Thank you for your respectful comment. But I was just talking about this subject earlier this week to another black gay person in my life. I personally don't like the idea of forcing myself where I'm not wanted, and I don't understand why anyone would. I don't want to impose on anyone's views or religious beliefs. If they do not like me for my color or sexuality why the hell do I want to force myself to be in that environment. But I only feel that way about private owned businesses and employers. The rest I feel like any human being should be entitled to.

....... ok

you're completely glazing over the fact that they're religious privileged bigoted intolerance, if accepted, becomes the norm, because of their privilege. you act as though wanting to be given the same business/social opportunities as others despite being gay/black/ostracized is the same as invading their private, safe spaces, kind of like what POC lament about when they feel the same. but guess what, its not the same thing. because their bigotry gets turned into laws like this, it gets turned into laws like the jim crow laws, it turns into laws that govern everybody, affect everybody, not just them. so you're being illogical, and you should honestly reconsider your stance.

So why force our views down someone else throat?

This is where your point falls apart.

It wasn't black communities forcing their views down America's throat when they demanded the right to be seen as people, to vote, to use the same doors and water fountains as white people, or to sit at the front of the bus.

It wasn't women forcing their views down men's throats when they demanded the right to vote, equal pay, and the ability to actually have a career.

And it's not the LGBTQ+ community forcing our views down homophobes' throats when we say we don't deserve to be refused service, fired, or turned down for a job because we're queer. It's not right regardless of whether it's a private business or not. We are nothing like them because we're fighting to be seen as equal while they're fighting to be legally able to treat us like second class citizens.

It's not intolerance to not tolerate intolerance.

Guys, don't turn the debates into personal attacks. If you don't have anything constructive to say, leave the thread.

You don't support human rights if you believe black people, women and gays should be discriminated against.

I won't be responding to you anymore. Talking to bigots and racists are like talking to a brick wall.

I point doesn't fall apart. You just fail to see my point.

This isn't  my stance. Go read my prior stuff in this thread. You guys see this issue as black or white but there is a grey area we all  fail to see.

You are failing to see the point. We are not racist and bigots and if you just listen you can see that.

I did not say they should be discriminated against, I said individuals with privet property should HAVE THE RIGHT to discriminate.. I also do not support discrimination against blacks, women and gays, I support discrimination on everyone even. I do think if you discriminate you are a horrible person, but what you do in your property is not my business. I support individuals rights and thats the most humane position to take so yes I do support human rights.. you on the other hand support collectivist rights which goes against human rights.

The problem with this is that it would only be the begining. It might start off as 'just' denying access to stuff. But the only thing it requires is for the media to begin their usual fear mongering. And you would suddenly be afraid of going into your own City.

Letting such a thing like this get through would escelate, not necessarily over night. But it would keep spreading/evolving, and before you know it. If you are not pure  white, you won't be able to buy an apartment because "it would look bad for the area".

That's technically incorrect. They can't deny you service simply for being homosexual. They can only deny you service if you're gay and married, are about to have or attend a same-sex marriage, or are having any sexual relations outside of a traditional marriage.

Prohibits the federal government from taking discriminatory action against a person on the basis that such person believes or acts in accordance with a religious belief or moral conviction that: (1) marriage is or should be recognized as the union of one man and one woman, or (2) sexual relations are properly reserved to such a marriage.

And u think that is correct or something better? OMG Love urself...
