I think they're asking was it a bad idea to make PI the first taste of Joanne if it apparently doesn't sound like the rest of the album.

Yea I was referring to Gaga's statement about PI. It doesn't really make sense to have a song that doesn't sound like the rest of the album. I guess we'll find out. It also makes me said because PI might've been picked as a single due to maybe being the only radio friendly song. I keep hearing mixed things.

Like isn't that messy? I'm thinking that if someone from the GP likes it, they'd be disappointed by Joanne bc Gaga said PI isn't indicative of Joanne… but if someone hates Perfect Illusion, then they wouldn't even wanna give it a listen. Stupid, I know.

I know it's gonna flop disasterously either way, so it's not a chart thing, I was just thinking that it was interesting that she has released an outlier on the album as the lead .

Applause sounds nothing like the rest of the album...

Well, if someone likes Perfect Illusion, they buy Perfect Illusion. People buy albums because they want to know WHAT ELSE is on it, and it's not like they expect the rest of it to sound like one song, it'd be super boring. There's obviously going to be another single released as well.

Not really. Did "Born This Way" sound like the rest of the album? Did "Applause" sound like the rest of ARTPOP?

I'm sure there will be some connective tissue uniting all of the songs, but every Gaga album is VERY different from song to song.
