Is Gaga one of the reasons for Adele's rise?

Obviously, Adele is very talented and her voice is the main reason why people began to buy her music, but is Gaga another reason that helped Adele's huge success in 2011? I say yes. The reason I am saying this is because Gaga transformed the music industry into a huge spectacle. From 2008-2011 Gaga dominated the music scene and brought electronic dance music, crazy fashion, epic music videos, and artistic performances to the mainstream. And I feel like by the end of the BTW era Gaga was very overexposed and she had saturated the GP with her over the top style. Then Adele suddenly appears with a simple image, ballads, and a great voice. In other words, Adele was the anti-Gaga and she seemed like a breath of fresh air to the GP. She was the escape to many people that wanted out of the "Weird, Crazy, Dance" era that Gaga had created in the music industry. Lets all remember that almost everyone wanted to be like Gaga. But in the end, Adele was the one that ultimately benefited from the over-saturation of Gaga's style in the music industry and ended the "Gaga era".

Wow, this is deep and seems very possible. Gaga opened up the doors for MANY artists...

Lace up my boots, throw on some leather and cruise.

No sweetie. Amy Winehouse paved the way for Adele and Duffy to be successful in the US. Gaga has nothing to do with Adele's success.

I never claimed that.

Well Adeles success cant be the outcome of Gaga specially when there has been many people like Adele in the past that have gone to #1 world wide.. people like talent and real good music regardless of what the media thinks we want.

21's success was the logical next step for her after 19.

Everyone heard Hometown Glory on TV ads, and the album was slowly simmering it's way into consciousness.

Then 21 came, with a humongous hit lead single. After that, both 19 and 21 dominated the charts simultaneously as everyone discovered her discography.

By the time Adele came, Amy was no longer popular. Amy was popular like 5 years before Adele.

When Adele became popular she was the "Anti-Gaga"

But I wouldn't say Gaga has anything to do with her success.

Rolling in the Deep became popular around May and BTW was finished yet at that time but unless you mean something else, sure.

If you read my OP, you would know that I said that the biggest factor in Adele's success was her talent. I just think that Gaga's style over-saturation in the mainstream was something that helped Adele get even bigger.

Gaga was already oversaturated with TF and TFM.  BTW overexposed her even more.

Nope...she earned her own sucess by herself also the producers and writers she worked with and this is a stupid thing to say; it's like saying Gaga owns everything she is to Madonna...and I hate those comparisons:grr:

What if tomorrow I see you again? Should I say that I used to love you?

Adele was the "Anti-Everything everyone was doing" around those days, and everyone was doing the pop-electronic-dance-beat-crazy-fashion-extravaganza-over the top-videos, not saying yes, but for Gaga had impact. Adele was fresh hair fot the Gagaish music insdustry.
