I feel like all of her albums transform along the way. We always hear early reports and demos of songs that end up sounding nothing like the final album cuts.

There was no such thing as a finished LG5 that was scrapped. She has all the rights to change the direction. It is her work and her choice to put together this album and she worked so hard on it so I will appreciate anything she has to offer.

Nah, this is based off of the listening party. Those who attended stated that the album is not really pop and more country/rock

The ones before said the album won't be called Joanne.

tbh, when you look at the timeline of Gaga's writing process for this album, the hints and hinted concepts of LG5 have changed dramatically since the beginning: -

TIME - BUTTERFLY/METAMORPHOSIS - ART OF DARKNESS - CHAOS ANGEL - ROCK HAND GESTURE/CIGARETTES - ALIEN

it's more than obvious that Gaga's ideas and themes changed throughout the writing process.

i just hope Joanne is cohesive and sends us on a journey as she paints an autobiographical picture, like she describes it!

I don't think it's scrapped... it was reshceduled imo, but we have to wait and see.

Yes and its kinda sad tbh

The songs Elton John heard are of course the same songs RedOne mentions, the description fits perfectly..

I am not against her working with Ronson, I think it was a great decision, I just wish she had combined her work with RedOne + her work with Ronson, I know that Mark is the executive producer, but hey, a bit of diversity in an album is always more than welcome, even in the past albums the executive producers of the album didn´t produce the entirety of it...

But well.... I've been stanning Gaga since 2010, I am already used to her last time decision changes.

Those at the listening party probably equate pop with synth pop and dance pop.   PI is still very much a pop song, just more energetic than what is normal for pop at the moment.  Joanne will be a pop album, just not a synth pop dance album.

I'm lowkey hating on Mark Ronson and whoever gassed her up regarding the direction of the new era.

I feel like for a comeback era, or even single, she should've played it safe with a Red One single. But tbh my opinion isn't based on success, I just don't honestly think PI is that good of a song.

Bellatrix

I don't think it was scrapped. The woman writes music all the time and it doesn't mean an album gets scrapped just because those songs don't make it to an album.

Lose control. Let go and fall. Do you get the satisfaction?

I don't think a whole album was scrapped, I think she was just doing loads of stuff in different directions over time and this is the one she honed in on and chose as the final one of LG5

I think the concept has stayed the same, she's just decided to not put some songs on it.

Well... Joanne doesn't seem at all related to:

-Chaos

-Butterfly/metamorphosis

-AHS:Hotel

So its a bit obvious she scrapped the whole concept

I think evolved probably better describes it. I don't think there was a point where she decided "I'm going to start all over again" but it does seem likely that the direction of the album gradually shifted from an earlier form- particularly the work with RedOne.
