Pressed tha a woman is slaying like Bruce I see. It's 2016. It's fvcking sad. Stay pressed bitch
Snow 1,582
So you seriously cant hear ANY negative critisism without calling it a hater etc?? Just fyi, there has been plenty critisism for PI that is perfectly valid and objective. This critisism/analysis was perfectly polite and analytical and pretty much on point. And yeah, I can agree with The screaming bit a bit. Sure its probably international and "an effect" if you please (many many others do that too). In this case I just don't personally like The sound. But yeah, stop jumping ppl's throaths for giving a bit of critisism... Especially if its actually valid. Critisism is a great way to grow as an artist and performer, both Professional and Consumer critisism. (In before I get a wp for this...-_-)

(In before I get a wp for this...-_-) I totally see your point, however: ''Earlier this month when Lady Gaga released “Perfect Illusion,” a scream-pop explosion that edges on rock, my immediate reaction was a physical cringe.'' ''Dear reader, do you love it or does the song wreck your ears?'' While some of the points made do seem objective, it's just the attitude of the article that kind of seems biased. Y'all can drag me all you want, now, idc BUY APPLAUSE ON ITUNES

That was what matters, The article itself was pretty blaah and noone should really care about that.

Guest
Ariana Grande's tone isn't authentic, she can't enunciate and sounds like her larynx is too low when she sings. She has potential but her technique is far from perfect. The PI vocals are fine imo. I think the issue is with the mixing and / or mastering. The vocals and the instrumental aren't well balanced together: the vocals are too loud over the track. As a results it's hard to hear the details of the production and it feels like she's oversinging when it isn't really the case.
RAMROD 109,607
LMAO, she have her own qualified coach to tell her such things, thanks anyway (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ✧*:・゚ dancin' until i'm dead (*´艸`*) ♡♡♡
doppelganger 3,933
Range and technique doesn't necessarily make a good singer. Gaga doesn't have range, but her technique is flawless though ... sometimes at the expense of soulfulness.
giskardsb 12,565
Basically the interview can be summarized as "she's not singing as a pop singer should." im also 100% sure Gaga wasn't trying to sound like a pop singer. She was trying to sound angry
JDi 1,495
what people don't get is, it is supposed to be jarring.

It means she's on the right track. He notes in the article how we are used to artificial pitch correction and that's why Perfect illusion sounds, well, imperfect. but does he really drag her? TheBatman 951
Nobody wants to hear opera style perfect technique on the radio anyways. It's all about the emotional connection you get through their voice! Many of my favorites had **** technique, David Bowie is arguably an awful singer but what a pleasing sound. Madonna is technically a sub par singer but the emotion in her voice and her ability to communicate such vulnerability in her ballads is so pleasing to my ears. For the most part I love Gagas voice!!! A powerhouse
