What I'd like to understand is why Gaga released the music video on September 8th if her intention was to release the music video 12 days later.  It would've made more sense to me if she would've released the music video the same day that she released the single.  The video streams would have helped the song a lot more.  Don't Gaga and Bobby know that you pretty much have to release a song with a music video the same day or the song will not catch on with radio audiences?

I'm not obsessed with charts by any means, but Perfect Illusion deserves success and the fact that she delayed the release of the video has unfortunately hurt the song.  From what I understand, it's # 56 on US iTunes and it will only keep falling more since there doesn't appear to be a deal with radio.

This past weekend, I listened to the main top 40 radio stations in Chicago and not once did I hear Perfect Illusion.  Actually, I take it back  I heard it once on Friday.  Do you want to know how many times I heard Closer, Stitches, This Is What You Came For, Sorry, other Bieber songs and Can't Stop The Feeling?  Too many times to keep with, tbh.  This leads me to believe Bobby only secured a radio deal for the day Perfect Illusion was released and the weekend that followed shortly after.  I don't think they currently have a radio deal ATM, otherwise we would hear Perfect Illusion once every hour or at least every other hour.

yeah it's really weird. First I believed that the promo was hella well thought-out but now it's completely still. If I wasn't a Gaga stan I would have probably forgotten her again after the single's hype.
On the other side, "no promo 'til the MV release" could be intentional . People who didn't like the song at first will maybe stumble upon the video, watch it and the song will grow on them.
This is literally the last chance for the song to become more successful.

That's enough of being a little promoter for today

I wouldn't count on it, tbh.  Our Queen of Music evolves with each music era so I don't think she'll wear outrageous fashion anymore.  I could be wrong, though.  We'll all just have to wait and see!   ;)

Edit:  OMG, I realized I responded in the wrong thread.  I'm so sorry, guys.

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

I don't know what to think, tbh.  I really love the song so I'm sad to see it free-fall on US iTunes.   :ohno:

Definitely not.

You know, I actually don't think we will get another single from Joanne at all.

The thing is that it isn't a "comeback", no one (GP, at least here in my country) knows about the Gaga's comeback, it's been a long time since the last Gaga hit and the 'basicga' doesn't help

not sure if we are really getting it, but they should do it.

Even if they don't care about charts and sales, I am sure they want the album to be heard, and in order to do that, they need people to actually want to hear the album (whether they buy it, stream it, or illegally download it)

Next single should come out mid-November.

Although a promo/buzz single would've been nice, just so she could perform medleys of new material, like she did with Dope during Fall 2013. But we have the proper first single and so Idek what they're planning to do now.

❤ x ❤

Well, I don't mind the more toned-down looks.  What bothers me is that 100% effort wasn't put forth to make the song as successful as possible.  IMO, Perfect Illusion deserves to be a major hit so I think the song would have been more successful if the video would've been released the same day the song was released on iTunes.

She will most likely release Hey Girl ft. Florence before the album drops, just to maximize sales on that song (since Florances fans will most likely buy that song as a single as well)

My guess is it will be released on October 7th or 14th. Might be a promo single at first, but then turn into the official second single if reception is good.

The selfish person in me says yes please but I would also want as much of the album to be a surprise as possible. I do feel that the iHeart Radio performances she did of half the album basically exposed the best songs on the album and left people wanting more than what was delivered by the time the album was released.

Not a bad album, but people didn't get shocked as much as I think they would have been hearing Sex Dreams, Venus, and MANiCURE for the first time on the album.

A second single would be great, but given the time I guess it will be a promo single. As long there will be a second song out before the album is released I would be happy!
