OMonster 14,675
Somehow, this feels oddly bittersweet to me right now. When I first saw this news my mouth literally dropped. I am so proud of her and insanely excited for this huge moment in her career. The Superbowl Halftime? It truly cannot get any bigger. However, what's upsetting - or even ironic, perhaps - is the time that this is coming. Gaga is a chameleon and right now she is all about authenticity and #musicnotthebling. In a few years from now though, I think this will be a distant memory. What I'm saying is that 'Gaga' (in all her creativeness and wildness), I am sure, will make a comeback sometime in the future. We know she changes and right now is an example of that. It isn't permanent, it never is. The Gaga of the Lady is still in there. What's sad about this is that the Gaga taking to the Superbowl in 2017 - I believe - is not going to be a Gaga that is going to bring a performance (in terms of visuals in particular... her music is always good) on par with say her Monster Ball for example. She isn't currently driven by being an artistic visionary. The woman behind the most iconic, defining music video of the 2000's (Bad Romance) is just about to release a totally stripped back video to an alternative pop song. And this is the Gaga who is going to be tasked with bringing the best visuals of her entire career. It just feels so frustrating that it has to come now. It's also pretty worrying, too. Of course, this is still incredibly exciting - just bittersweet, as I say. She's been given the world's biggest stage... but does she really want it? And is she really going to bring it? I am totally here for this very deep, personal Joanne era but it's sad that such a huge opportunity for spectacle (something that totally contradicts expectations from a 2016 Gaga) has to coincide with it. I hope this doesn't read as a hate thread because that is not my intention at all. I love Perfect Illusion and I am so here for Joanne. I just feel that now is not the time that Gaga should take to such a huge platform. subtext / fantasy

GypsyLova 307
I 100% agree with you. I think she should do it when she's making a big pop comeback. Right now she's just lost artistically and is releasing a ****ing indie album. She will be singing PI at the Super Bowl. In front of 100M ppl. VANTABLACK 7,793
She better bring it . I wanna see some weird ass ****. She better not get upstaged by a dumb shark
lxdygxga 3,353
This is Gaga! And this is the biggest stage of them all. She's going to bring it all and more. Just because Perfect Illusion is a stripped back visual is not indicative of what she would do given the biggest television performance of her career. Guest
but is it really a bad move to bring up a stripped back performance where EVERYONE expected a massive show with visuals, fireworks and so on especially from Gaga? I think not. Imagine Gaga only doing acoustic versions of her old songs and mixing them with songs from her new album.. People will be shocked again,People will look back and say: "Gaga changed, Gaga wasn't Gaga, Gaga was a talented musician actually performing live music." This performance will have enormous memorability if she's not jumping on the bandwagon and bring CrazyGa back. IMO it would be a masterstroke. Adakam 2
The superbowl halftime was built from rock shows and people still love that, a few years ago when the rolling stones performed, there wasnt that many visuals and they stll did great. Im sure Gaga has probably dreamed about this performance for years and i bet she already has stuff in mind, im sure she will bring something great but balanced in between too much visuals and too much just music. I trust her
