i dont care about what your father thinks because by the time any kind of ban is put into place, he'll be dead. This is something that the next generation will be prepared for by our current generation of politicians. 

as far as assault weapons go, i've only wanted a ban on high caliber bullets that can pierce multiple walls and maybe a limit on how many bullets you can purchase/large mag clips unless they have a good reason to own that much firepower. if an AR-15 is firing small caliber bullets then i dont see how much bigger of a problem it is to have one than a handgun but i dont know all that much about guns.

I disagree.  And it has been discussed in articles that the gun culture is too ingrained and our country is too big to ever be able to enact a gun ban in this country.  The politicians wouldn't be re-elected or be elected who would even try that.

I really dont care about what those articles say because it is my own opinion that things ingrained into a culture can be changed and fazed out as time goes on. cultures change over time and that is a fact that can not be argued imo. we can believe something like racism is ingrained into our culture but now we're a a point where we have a black president and jim crow is long gone. is their still racism? yes but it is very taboo today as owning a gun could become taboo in the future. 

 

if the culture around guns changed with the next generation of people, politicians could run with a goal of a gun ban and be elected if our culture has changed enough. with all the mass shootings and anti-gun rhetoric in the media catches on then it could happen.  

people change, cultures change. it happens.

Any sane person would look at the data from 10 years of the federal Assault Weapons Ban, see it did nothing to affect gun violence and will do nothing in future, and forget about such asinine legislation.

The AR-15 is .22-caliber and it is often recommended because .223 bullets pierce less walls than most buckshot or pistol bullets.

Don't agree with the racism analogy, and the future can hold any possibilities instore...  If there is 1 constant of the universe, it is change!  NOTHING stays the same forever, and that's just something people need to understand, recognize, and come to terms with.  Nothing is EVER truly set in stone...   🙌
