Trump: Clinton doesn't want guns, "let's see what happens to her"

Miami (CNN) - Donald Trump on Friday wondered aloud what would happen to Hillary Clinton should her Secret Service detail disarm.

"I think her bodyguards should drop all weapons. Disarm immediately," Trump said. "Take their guns away, let's see what happens to her."

"Take their guns away, OK? It'll be very dangerous," he added.

Trump's comment, which came as he criticized Clinton over gun rights, is not the first time he has called for Clinton's Secret Service detail to "disarm." But it is the first time he has wondered aloud what would happen to her should she suddenly be deprived of armed protection.

Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook said Trump's remarks "should be out of bounds for a presidential candidate."

"Whether this is done to provoke protesters at a rally or casually or even as a joke, it is an unacceptable quality in anyone seeking the job of commander in chief," Mook said in a statement, adding, "He is unfit to be President and it is time Republican leaders stand up to denounce this disturbing behavior in their nominee."

I mean I'm voting for Hillary, and I agree that trump isn't fit to be president, but this is something I agree on,@ me if you want to, I'm not changing my mind. It's a scary world out there and as a gay men in a redneck homophobic area I like to carry as a means to protect myself just in case... It's a scary world out there. Why can Hillary protect herself with tons of armed men but I can't protect myself?

 

again, not a trump supporter but the gun ban thing is something that concerns me. Gun control, yes, but not a ban. Then again I don't know Hilary's stance on this, maybe she doesn't want to take mine away. Regardless I'm keeping my gun. Judge me all you want.

Hillary is not for taking away most guns from law abiding citizens, she just wants more regulation and the end of assault weapons.

It would more than likely not affect anyone who is complaining about gun laws....

gun control is the beginning of a fazing out of the gun culture in america so if you're @GAGA1972 fear is a gun ban for average citizens then its a legit fear though i think this will be longer down the road. hillary will just begin the process, not finish it.

to say a gun free america isnt the ultimate end goal of gun control is disingenuous imo but its just my opinion. whether its a good idea or not, i'm not sure

Bull.  This is a country that will never agree to a ban on guns.  Democrats own guns for safety. Many Democrats also hunt to eat if they live in certain areas.  Any politician knows they would never get elected running on a complete gun ban, and it would never ever get through Congress.  My father, a Dem, owned a rifle and gun.

But any sane person would want common sense gun legislation and a ban on assault weapons and large magazine clips, like there once was.

 

You are just repeating the NRA and Repugnicans' rhetoric about this being the first step in taking away guns.  The NRA has deep pockets.

She isn't trying to take away guns, except reinstating the ban on assault weapons.  Go to her website and read her policy on gun control if you want to know where she stands.    It's the typical Republican's buzz words and scare tactics, oh, Dems are taking away our guns.

of course they wont agree on a gun ban now, of course congress as it stands now wouldnt allow it. Thats why i said its a slow fazing out of the gun culture in america, key word slow . 

i dont care about what your father thinks because by the time any kind of ban is put into place, he'll be dead. This is something that the next generation will be prepared for by our current generation of politicians. 

as far as assault weapons go, i've only wanted a ban on high caliber bullets that can pierce multiple walls and maybe a limit on how many bullets you can purchase/large mag clips unless they have a good reason to own that much firepower. if an AR-15 is firing small caliber bullets then i dont see how much bigger of a problem it is to have one than a handgun but i dont know all that much about guns.

 

either way, imo a gun ban is something that will happen in the future and they are setting the stage for it to take place sometime in the future.
