That is their excuse I can't believe that an artist, when composing one album, defines a standard and a deluxe edition. If you want your fans to listen to the songs, release a b-side, or better yet put them out there for free. I guess it still sounds weird, but I get to trust more those who release a deluxe editions months after the album was released. I understand that, once the album is out there, it grows in you, and it grows in ways that an artist sometimes is not expecting, so it makes sense to re-release it with additional songs, as an update (specially if you, as the artist, are still very into it). Or you release an album full of b-sides (as it is or in the form of a second album). Releasing the standard and the deluxe at the same time is much more meaningless. What's ironic is the record store in my town had those in stock for at least two years after the release.

See I would say that releasing a deluxe months after is more of a money-grab because they're ensuring that everyone buys the original and then saying "buy this one too for more songs!" joannesrats 26
I'm fine with it. The less tracks on the album mean that there are less filler tracks.
display name 4,360
I thought that Gaga just didn't want the word "deluxe" on the album cover... Anyway, definitely glad to be getting thirteen new songs.

Slayer 9,227
The problem I find with deluxe editions is that my mind immediately treats the deluxe songs as redundant and filler...because if they weren't good enough to make the standard edition, then why should I treat them all the same? I had that problem with the three BTW bonus tracks. I just hated them all to begin with. Over time I've grown to like BJAF and FFHL but nowhere near as much as the standard edition songs. Worried the same will happen with Joanne deluxe songs... I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!

I know, and that's why I admit it sounds kind of weird but still, get my idea? For me it can be more meaningful than releasing both at the same time. It's not ideal anyway. The best would be to release a whole new album, with the scraps of the previous.
