It feels like some of you want PI to fail

We've had enough information for a while to know her new music was not going to be synthy dance pop which is the biggest problem a lot of you have with PI but then you try to mask your distaste as other things.

She screams in the middle 8 in Bad Romance, the verses in Telephone are about the same length as those in PI, the Paparrazi instrumental and mixing have that same "unfinished" raw sound, and Poker Face and Alejandro sort of drag after the chorus succeeding the bridge. 

My point is PI really isn't a whole new direction from her that hardcore fans wouldn't have seen coming. 

Instead of appreciating her decisions, you're more upset at the genre of music she's going with, which for all intents and purposes is still very much POP, just a different variety of pop. 

I think PI was a solid choice for a debut single, regardless if it's my personal favorite song by her. 

I, personally, wasn't a fan of having Alejandro or Judas as singles.

I really questioned her having Born This Way as a debut single once I heard the rest of the album (there were far better choices)

I wasn't anxious to see those see those single fail, however. I was grateful for the success and still enjoyed the albums, performances and videos. 

This obviously doesn't apply to everyone who disliked PI.

I don't know why everyone thinks its the genre that's the problem, the vocal delivery is what brings in the mixed opinions imo. The instrumental slays.

but it is fycking dance pop and synthy to me it dosent sound much different from her previous singles other than her vocal performance in PI is more rough . And that's why I believe it will fail it's not that different or trend pushing its the same disco Gaga feel like any other single she released  

I wish Gaga did a complete 180 from ARTPOP like she did when released btw . I could have totally seen PI on ARTPOP , the message isn't that extraordinary (fyck love)

 YESSSS it far superior , it's an amazing song . But we needed an epic song . Like a ballad or more laid back acoustic or a complete soul rock song which I was expecting

They're much louder, wilder, untreated and almost sound like she's missing notes she intends to hit. Don't get me wrong, I've been streaming the song constantly since it came out but I'm totally in line with why people wont like it.

But her voice is striking and bold and gaga, and fun, and its so catchy and satisfying and I like the bass in the instrumental. Its utterly refreshing. As a person who loves chart music and alternative music, I am so glad gaga is shaking up the game again. This is Gaga's big comeback hit, its not flopping, its going to chart highly all round the world, forget about sales numbers, forget about if its not a number 1, and enjoy the comeback of a pop culture icon! I don't like the song. You can give me all the explanations you want, of how it uses the rule of thirds and how Gaga chose a new musical direction, or how she sounds really raw, but I don't like it. Simple as that.

If you like it, that's great. What I don't understand is why some of you can't accept the fact that people dislike the song (for reasons other than the fact that its not typical Gaga-pop).

If the GP doesn't like it, it will not do well commercially. That's life.

So the point of this thread wasn't to convince any one who disliked it to like it. That's none of my business. 

I was more so pointing out the people who disliked REVELING in every negative update as if they want it to flop.

My friends who dont particularly like gaga love pi and my friends parents do. My dad loves it, he said she is a proper rockstar now and that she is an asset to the world for preserving proper music (his exact words).

Okay, if people like the song, that's great!! There's no reason to prove this to me.

Again, I don't dislike the song because I thrist for synthy pop records. I listen to plenty of alternative/indie/rock and I still don't like it. Do I have to like every single song Gaga makes?
