PI is multi-layered - every time I listen to the song, I find a new sound, new vocal, new instrumental part. I didn't feel that with Applause. Applause was very straight to the point pop song. 2. PI is messy - but in a good Gaga way. I feel that with every new day I get to see the real structure of the song. It reveals itself slowly. Again, with Applause I got the picture after a few listens. 3. PI is catchy - it has a catchy chorus just like BTW. 4. PI is very rock influenced - in Gaga way. It's not pure rock but has that same rock spirit that BTW had. Applause was a clear pop song. 5. PI is aggressive - as it was stated, it's punch in the face type of song just like BTW. Applause on the other hand, was like a comfortrable hug. 6. PI is fresh - it doesn't really sound like what radio is playing and key change is something you don't see very often in american pop music. 7. LG5 is a spiritual successor to BTW - in a way that will have that same rock vibe, personal album. But more organic and mature. Like BTW was her teenage rebel phase and now she's grown up rebel. Also, I would note that I looooooove ARTPOP and Applause and this is not meant to bash it. It's all part of journey with Gaga and I still continue to play that album.
