The is falling now because the stans have already purchased it and it now needs to be embraced by the GP. We need more than a week to actually make assumptions... Anyway for most people, if a song is a success your friends/family are more likely to share in your appreciation of the music as opposed to rolling their eyes when you "put that annoying gaga song" on so even just for that reason it can be important.
