The song doesn't need defending. If my post headline made it sound that way then my bad. In fact I wanted the headline to be "Celebuzz Calls Gaga One Of Greatest Pop Stars Of All Time, Says Basis Of Guardian's Harsh PI Review Is 'Patently Untrue' but that was too long so I shortened it.

So far the Guardian is literally the only bad review I've read of the song from a major publication. One bad review (or even a few bad reviews for that matter) hardly makes the song in need of defending, otherwise by your logic you could say that every single song ever released by any artist needed defending and was therefore not a good song.

WOW --- that Celebuzz review is 100% speaking my heart!! They found the way to say the words to describe what I feel about it, better than I could myself! 

This song is nothing short of an anthem.

It's Gaga doing what she does best, giving a big middle finger to Top 40 music trends  when she "needs" to be following them the most. 

While also delivering a TIMELESS song. Forget your opinions about the production, the "sound," etc... from a songwriting perspective, this is one of the biggeset homeruns she has ever made.
