Gaga is a musician, she's devoted to her art and art reflexes the mind, soul and heart of the artist at the moment. Art is an expresion of who she is and what she feels, and we can't expect it to be a pop hit EACH TIME. I think she tried to merge her true artistic vision with comercial/pop sounds with ARTPOP and we all know it was a mess. I loved it, and undestood the background of it and what it ment for her, but I'm more exited to see her just expressing herself purely without trying to fit a mold and be pop. Even when she claimed she wanted to break boundaries and step out of the box, that album seemed like it was being forced far away from what she really wanted to do just to please with a certain sound. PI is really emotional, her vocals represent that. She's screaming with anger and rage because who wouldn't if you felt that way about a love that took as many years as Taylor. The music and the composition of the song are pure genious, and in top of that she managed to make it danceable. I really believe you shouldn't be stanning if you're not feeling it. I'm feeling it, and I'm here for this new concept and feel eager to know what she's going to deliver with the album. I want new geniune sounds and ideas. I want art, I don't care if it's pop, rock or neither. I don't care if the GP likes it or if it tops the charts. I will be really happy and proud if it has a huge comercial success, but that is not what defines artistry. That's my opinion and I'll be stanning as long as I'm feeling it. There was a demo used which they all really liked and then Gaga sat and wrote the lyrics. This was in May 2016 which is AFTER all the RedOne info. That is what I listen to music for... to connect. It's such a shame considering how much her music has impacted me in the past. I guess I just wish the lyrics were more in depth and clever. I honestly don't get the hate I really like your description here. "Alive" is a great way to put it. This song isn't structured like a typical pop record from Gaga, but as it goes on through the repetitive lyrics, it feels like it somehow evolves, and personally when the song ends, I want it to keep going because I feel like it could still go further through the emotions.
