I think people want to hear something new from her. For non gans, Gaga is all gimmick, so I understand where is Gaga coming from with this reinvention. It became lately because everyone followed her on the euro-dance track. I'd say Perfect Illusion is quite accessible actually, very catchy, lyrics are very relatable... Perfect Illusion is made to do amazing in radios and in charts... Mark my word this song will be a big hit for Gaga, maybe not as much as BR or PF of course but it will still be big. I gave you an empirical comparison. Just because a song shoots to number 1 on iTunes doesn't mean anything more especially with the larger emphasis on streaming.
