Finally a decent marketing campaign (or the start of one!)

The Instagram feed... Just perfect. It's like she finally has some professional marketing going on (just like all other artists!) The collages, the use of Ronson, the teasing lyrics with the scrapbook style photos. It's all consistent, on theme and not messy. I feel it's been a long time coming  

She has this **** nailed. I remember the ARTPOP announcement coming out on what looked like MS paint. It wasn't executed to perfection like this.

And I've noticed that Gaga has kept quiet too. No opinions or feelings within her posts... She knows she teased the **** out of everything she's ever done for far too long previously. 

I just love this era already and we only have a single cover and a couple new images... A very good start!!

I liked the composition of the initial ARTPOP promo, from the photoshoot to the really minimal typography in that bloated description of what the album was about. I emphasize initial because after Applause came out I feel like she ditched the clean minimalism, teased her venus wig to hell, and got super DIY+cheap.

I think the ARTPOP roll out strategy was much more exciting. However, that was just at the beginning. In the end it worked against her. I hope she'll release the music video in an exciting way, I really liked the GMA appearance.

Exactly! It just felt like after the rush release of applause it all got very messy. Sad. 

But this time round, with the right manage my, her promo so far is veeeery pleasing for my OCD approach to marketing of artists 😂😂

Mmm I don't know about GMA... I'm actually in full support of it playing down. Not having a huge spectacle with a million visuals. Just some solid, strong and cool award show/high profile performances.

I prefer this rollout much more. Although something that was cool about the ARTPOP era was unlocking the album artwork on the website

I agree that so far the promotion and teasing for LG5 has been leaps and bounds ahead of any of her other releases. ARTPOP's promotion and marketing were doing great up until Satan (Troy Carter) ****ed everything up on that fateful November 3rd

Yeah, a clean start for Gaga, hope it all continues and goes to plan. I'm expecting some futuristic pop rock music on lg5, starting with Perfect Illusion as I have said all this time. I think its going to push boundaries musically but will be rocky enough to get acclaim and to stand out from the pop girls. I reckon it will be a success with a few big hits hopefully and some respectable sales. I cannot wait to see the visuals and music videos because gaga looks cool lately!

this is just single number one from what I hope is the album of her career so far. Looking forward to music videos. I think, as fans, we've gotten used to not getting a lot as the ARTPOP era was our last experience. But this time round I feel we'll get so many visuals. It's all being carefully planned I think.

I don't live for the charts or care for critical acclaim towards Gaga but there is definitely something pleasing about the industry taking notice. But this time it feels different. No gimmicks or theatre. Just Gaga. I don't know... But it all feels new again.

Not even just the rush release but the actual visual aesthetics she was putting forth went from really cool, contemporary, and minimal to like her invoking the wizard of oz at gma and then wearing a christmas tree on her head. like idk. that venus wig was so beautiful before she teased the hell out of it. her outfits for those first 2 or 3 weeks of ARTPOPs announcement were fire.

and then ALL of a sudden she did a 180 and was like:

 

I was like wait.....where did the fashion go? Why are we a stylistically bipolar mess all of a sudden?

Yup. You're so right. It was a weird time and era for her I feel. I don't know if she was solidly behind it (due to all the drama behind the scenes). It must've been so hard. 

The iTunes festival was perfection. Would've been so happy if the era continued in that style.

yes I know what you mean, it feels very different. I became a gaga fan in 2011 during born this way, just when Judas was released to be precise, but I was a kid then and during ARTPOP and now I'm a young adult, left school, come out to my friends, I feel like so much has changed in my life and I'm kind of a new person. And I feel like Gaga is too, it feels like she is starting from scratch again. Obviously she isn't because she is still one of the most famous people in the world but, it just feels so different, I'm excited though, very excited.
