Pop girls aren't assumed #1s like in 2011 anymore. I don't need her to "beat" Closer. I just want her to go Top 5 and sell a bunch WW.

anyway nowadays when they announce a performance on tv shows they say "#1 hit" when the song hit #1 on itunes :poot:

Yeah, I don't really mind her getting a #1 or not. Bad Romance never hit #1 and it's her most memorable song. What matters is solid sales and a good video.

To reiterate (and we’re gonna keep reiterating till it sinks in, dammit!), the chart below tracks the total weekly revenue of the Top 25 songs, tabulating sales, streams and their revenue contributions. A word about methodology: On-demand audio streams are calculated at an average of .00575 per stream; however, streams from the ad-supported tier are calculated at a lower rate. Track sales are calculated at 70% of retail, with 69-cent and other discount sales pricing factored in. Revenue from video streams, including user-generated content, is factored into the total but not broken out on the chart. Needless to say, these numbers represent an estimate for comparative purposes, and should not be seen as an attempt to determine artist royalty payments. Got that? No? Great. http://hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=302742

What about airplay? If I remember correctly the Rihanna/Calvin Harris/Taylor song made 100k+ on radio alone. They also don't include possible revenue from being played in an advertisement or something alike... all in all doesn't represent how much money a song makes.

Poor Britney/RCA though :rip:

Martin Garrix and Zedd are NOT threats on radio. Trust me :rip:

I'd be more worried about Rise rising from the dead and hitting #1 on radio songs than either of those songs touching the top 10 on radio songs.

Yeah, I agree on this one...

The real radio threat could be Bruno (if he releases).. Idk about Emeli Sande, she is also releasing..

They share the same pie as PI (:derpga:). If either of these songs become big, it will mean less attention for Gaga's song. They're already big in 'we-liked-it-first' markets like Australia and the Philippines, and the US is coming next.

Does anyone know how important overall Spotify streams are these days? If it's a nice PR thing (like a billion youtube views, #1 Digital Sales, #1 Pop Radio, million sales, etc are) she could try to inflate her overall Spotify streams by doing promo in Sweden, the Philippines, Mexico and Taiwan. She could inflate her Youtube views with promo in Mexico, Brazil, Turkey and Thailand, but perhaps it's not worth it to rebuild her image as the 'it' star if it means promoting in places where music doesn't really sell.

Bruno probbaly will the week after or 2 weeks after Gaga I feel like. I've been hearing his name more lately.

She has pretty limited competition in general though.. Doesnt get much better than how it is now.

Do you guys think radios tweeting about PI means that they will play the song a lot and not only for the radio deal, but after? I need longetivity and amazing radio support

They better! But honestly, I think Gaga is embracing the format that gave her a chance to stardom in the first place: Radio. Her music videos and performances may have catapulted her to celebrity status but it was radios who were willing to play her music. I honestly believe she's focused mostly on making sure Perfect Illusion will be big on radio.

It's sold about 300k, I'm sure it'll be eligible for a Gold cert soon once streams are factored. Why can't they just wait?

They got tired of always using years old receipts so they went straight for the Wikipedia page :poot:
