However, are you implying that our science is completely able to understand the functioning of our universe? Have we actually discovered it all? I personally think there is still a myriad of misteries remaining unknown to us, and that may have already been discovered by extraterrestrial civilisations (which must be millions of years older in such a case). Yes, they could have discovered new and interesting things that could help with the efficiency of how the handle and and obtain energy. However, is there is one universal law in physics is that energy cannot be created or destroyed.

We only started rapid technological advancement 150 years ago and we havent even been able to leave our solar system yet We are literally in the very beggining of a technological civilization I dont think we even need to debate whether we understand it all or not. Clearly we dont Thats evident by the fact that theres multiple theories for all kinds of things. Possibly in some cases none are correct Case and point, we are still primative if you really think about it. Were merely in the introduction phase of the scientific discovery era In 200 years, our understanding and technological abilities will have surged so much that from our perspective now we will have magical godly powers then. If only physics could be reduced to "energy cannot be created or destroyed", I think we would have already designed a way to obtain energy from our Sun the way a Kardashev Type 2 civilisation is supposed to. But, unfortunately, most of the energy Earth provides is wasted and, moreover, we only harness solar energy by means of solar panels (which seem utterly ridiculous compared to the hypothetical Dyson sphere). In my opinion, we are just Katy Perrys in an universe full of Lady Gagas...
