Saudi Arabia is theocracy, France is suppose to democracy. There is nothing liberating or democratic about this law and the police works in very similar way, to control how the women should dress.

Well, this thread exaggerates a lot.
F.e. noone here tells anyone how to dress just because one piece of clothing is banned. But anyway, yes, what the police did was wrong. It is a beach after all, not a swimming pool where a burkini can be a hygenic threat, so it shouldn't be banned there.
