Am I the only one who doesn't find Gaga outstanding in Hotel?

She was on par with the other actors.

A lot of the time the script demanded more of a reserved persona of the Countess, and so it may have seemed like she wasn't doing enough, but she was just in character.  I think we're more analytical as little monsters. Many casual/non-fans of Gaga can admit that they were blown away by her acting.

I see your point, the character was SO like her "Gaga" attitude that she kinda described as a "character", even her outfits were so Gaga  ...I think what gave her the GG was that this was her first role as an actrees, we still need to see her doing a character that makes her get out of the box

I don't know. I didn't like anything about the season. When gaga was on she definitely commanded attention. But I legit just think the other seasons of AHS are better. Hotel was extremely boring . I only watched until like episode six. It lost my interest

She was uneven but as a first major acting role it wasn't that bad, I thought she was great in the episode Flicker.

She wasn't outstanding, but she wasn't bad, either. She's really good for a rookie actress!

Playing the countess is very hard imo because she's very cold + she has lived for hundreds of years so she doesn't easily break.

I stopped reading at "she's no Jessica Lange" 

I find it unfit to compare someone who is just starting out, compared to someone who has been in the business for a while.

Plus, it makes reviews/opinions seem tacky and unprofessional... It shows that your whole review is based on Gaga not being able to fulfill Jessica Lange. And please don't deny it; you said so yourself.

In order to critique Gaga's acting; you'd have to look at her for who she is and only her. You can't compare her to anyone else. No one else is like her.

For those saying the plot of Hotel is scattered, well the other seasons are scattered af as well.

I think the whole thing going on with AHS is that it portrays horror in a more glamorous way, with a bunch of murder, lots of characters, and open ended arcs that does not quite seamlessly tie in together at the end. I like it because it's mysterious but not exactly for its cohesive story telling--and that's ok cause it's horror.

I love AHS since season 1 and i still love it now. I think Gaga did great, not spectacular-amazing but great for her role.

She was good, but the writing/scenes were just awkward at times. She had moments where she really shined, but the first half of the season was just odd. She barely had lines and when she did they were very monotone. I know that was suppose to be the aesthetic for The Countess, but I wasn't enjoying it. I much preferred the scenes where she was showing heavy emotions and passion (IE: The recording studio scene. It was 5 seconds long but she NAILED it).
