While you bring up some fair points, and it could really go either way, personally I wouldn't be so worried.. I think producers are concerned about commercial success the most, unless it's a clear goal to make their film a critical success. The screenwriter is what whould worry me the most BUT it's a remake, so few things can go wrong in the story.. it's a successful story after all, that's why it's being remade every few decades. As for Bradley Cooper, it is known that he wanted to make this film for years now, so I'm pretty sure he has a very good vision about it and we shouldn't fear his directional debut. Lady Gaga's involvement willl indeed be a focus point for critis and general audience, and the fact that she is composing music herself will be praised a lot I believe. So I'm mostly positive about its success, but even if it doesn't end up well recieved it will not be the end of the world, it's the effort that matters, it's about the new vision, the new character, that will be brought to this classic story, and I think Gaga and Cooper have a lot to offer.

She knows her place so she probably refused the part out of pure fear.

I mean, yeah, I'm not stressing out over this :laughga: This is just me trying to stir the pot tbh

Very true about the producers -- a lot of the movies I listed, while panned by critics, made millions at the box office. At the end of the day, producers want their money back + more. Rotten Tomatoes ratings don't pay the rent :lolga:

By that logic every LG5 speculation thread ever made on this website should be deleted

agreed..... she got the best role she could, but since she is not an established actress, there wasn't much to choose from

This is a forum though.

This is the exact reason why Didymus left. This thread was made for discussion and you don't need to shun him because there isn't any need to assume whilst members are losing ideas for threads.

- The movie probably won't flop at the box office (at least I hope it doesn't). Little Flopsters + soccer moms and their closeted husbands itching for a Bradley Cooper fix + senior citizens who bought C2C and stan "A Star Is Born" in every incarnation = box office success? :poot:

:toofunny: This is so true :toofunny:

you guys work way too hard at deciding that stuff will be bad before it actually happens.

This is a forum. For discussing things, for speculating, for throwing out all sorts of hypotheses and ideas amongst a community. Not everything can be positive, and I believe what this person wrote was constructive and respectful. What would you prefer us to talk about?

Can't stand when people post stuff like this, that's what this site is for

EDIT: Quoted this on the first page as soon as I saw it, didn't see that other people are talking about this. Good to see I'm not the only one who feels this way.
