Haroon 49,685
Couldn't disagree more with her not being timeless Her hits from 10 years ago are still as amazing aurally as they were back then. People tend to forget how long Rihanna's been in the industry and how she's still going strong despite the everchanging landscape. She didn't just pop up recently, she's been going on for a long time by pop industry standards and doesn't show any sign of slowing down really I also think it's quite rude to say that someone will NEVER be something

I mean, Madonna ****ed up 2 eras and became even more successful. Michael Jackson had haters with the childrens case. That's the only thing that makes her be with the legends to me. Tell me she's not legendary after reading all of these achievements. ¿Qué currículum tiene ésta tarántula?

Soo, Rihanna l was late for 1h after all opening acts were done... Then all song were cut to 1 min or less, Only (Diamonds, Stay, Consederation, Love on The Brain and Kiss it Better) Show was only 1 hour and few minutes long, and her dance moves, after seeing Beyoncé, this was really bad, lots pf people complained and there was no enegry on the concert. I like Rihanna very much, bought Anti, Loud, Un....all albums... But this was bad. that IS my Opinion. But there are a lots of negative rewiews on the internet too... Soo don't come for me as a show (and the production of it), i kinda agree with you. The ANTI Tour and The Diamonds World Tour felt flat as for "visual" , in comparison with The Loud Tour, who was far better. but I jst loved the vibe of the ANTI Tour and dancing around like a fool

River 117,313
I can put Beyonce in the same list as Rihanna tbh the legend of Beyonce is not her music but it's her "strong woman" attitude.. but every singer is a legend and having an impact in so many areas that it's more than the music.. Music is not the only factor... What's the different between Rihanna and Britney? Both are not writing or have any artistic imoact on their music.. The only different is that Rihanna sings live.. So it's another minus for Brit.. So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy
Gypsy Life 118,907
I agrih. She has no talent to back herself up, and she's all about quick lil forgotten singles. She has no impressive selling album either, nor a big tour. Hopping on trends won't get her anywhere after she's 30 too.
DeanWinchester 41,390
Rihanna has proven to have more longevity than Gaga at the moment and is on track to break Madonna's sales records after another two albums. I wouldn't be so quick to downplay her achievements even though she can't sing on the same level as Gaga. Flyin' like a 1000 Doves

Iwontell 7,312
Wow...so much Gaga hate in a topic that is not related to her at all...like, if you're so against her, what are you even doing here, you psychos? Log out, pls... ---------- About the OP: I completely disagree. Rihanna has achieved a lot of success, she's perceived as the "coolest girl" among the pop girls, she has a good sense of style, a nice voice, she looks nice. Like it or not, you don't stick around for over 10 years being as relevant as she is for nothing...she's a legend (a word that y'all throw around way to easily, btw) in the making to me. ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.
Anderson123 38,478
Well she's already a legend, deal with it. She has made history with the amount of success she has achieved. People are just bitter that she's getting a dumb award (Yes, the VMAs are a damn joke) that Gaga doesn't have. Rihanna deserves this award because she has released 8 albums in 10-11 years and many of them were big hits. Umbrella, Only Girl, We Found Love and Diamonds are already worldwide recognized singles and people will deal with it. That's the thing with this and many other fanbases. You can't just be happy about other people because your favorite popstar is not having the same success. Perhaps it's a reflection of our society that you have to see someone fail in order to feel satisfaction ? Who knows. Britney Spears got this award a couple of years ago and both her and Rihanna are pretty much the same.

She is stylish, has charisma and brings songwriters work to life. Being a great popstar isn't just about having a nice voice and playing an instrument...you need to have an eye and ear for trends, an open mind for collaborators, be in touch with what is going on in the world and most importantly of all have a sustained work ethic and focus...not work for 4 years then give up. I agree, but it's her team that does all of this. ¿Qué currículum tiene ésta tarántula?

komr 414
In my opinion she is/will be an icon. She sold more than 200 milion records and that's simply enough to be consider as an icon , sure she is not critically acclaimed as an artist or performer and she doesn't have big impact on pop culture but she is well known everywhere and that's more than enough
