Seeka 12,372
Can we just talk about one of the best videogame soundtracks ever? Made (mostly) by Nobuo Uematsu? Sword of Doubt (do not doubt you're about to have your ass handed to you) Extraction Kuja Exits Burmecia The Return of the Evil Mist Footsteps of Desire Eternal Harvest https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soKNYm6fLqA Let's just talk about FF9's amazing soundtrack okays? pie-kun 1,765
Final Fantasy 7, 8 and 9's music will always be special to me because those games were such a huge part of my childhood. One of my favorites from 9 was You Are Not Alone, IIRC it only plays in one scene in the entire game

Don't remember my exact third though. and yes, that song is awesome. Especially when combined with its scene.
KinneyUnderYou 0
The Last of Us to me is the best video game soundtrack of all time. Did you hear it or play the game?

Did you hear it or play the game? No but it takes a lot for it to beat sword of doubt. I mean, sword of doubt makes you crap your pants. Though that's because of Beatrix. I like the song, but honestly, I've something like this, in like... every soundtrack in like every dismal post apocalypse game. It's nice but not original. The game interests me, but not the best soundtrack. For me, it's really between FF9, FF10, Xenoblade Chronicles, The World Ends with You, and a few others. AyaKara 2,281
I don't think 9's soundtrack is the best, but my god is Terra such a fantastic song. We can't talk about FF9 without bringing up Kate Covington's amazing videogame covers. @KinneyUnderYou, there are a lot of great videogame soundtracks including TLOU, but I have to say that I think Nier is the best videogame soundtrack of all time. If you haven't played Nier, check it out. I've played hundreds of games across genres over the past 20 years and Nier's soundtrack is just unbelievable. The Silent Hill series has some seriously great music too. A lot of people wave it off because of horror when it's probably one of the deepest game series around (or rather, was ). I shared two songs below! One of smooth sound, another more rock. EDIT: I don't know what happened to my post, but I included a lot of the songs I mentioned above in the spoiler. imwoahvicky 4,248
I enjoyed FF13's soundtrack including FF13: Lightning Returns Spoiler And the iconic Chocobo theme for FF13-2 ⚜ Roll Deep ⚜

Smoother sound: Rock sound: Somehow my whole post got spoilered, trying to fix it now It's one of the best I think, at least when compared to most other FFs. Though I am now noticing how much they used the damn harp. That cover is really good by the way. have you checked out the remixes and revamps of the other songs? 2 minutes ago, Scarlet said: I enjoyed FF13's soundtrack including FF13: Lightning Returns Hide contents And the iconic Chocobo theme for FF13-2 I actually dislike most of the soundtrack from FF13. It's enjoyable, but many songs (mostly in 13-2 and 13-3, 13-1 doesn't have that much of a problem) have an added element(s) (usually vocals) that are really uneeded, giving the song far too many elements. Also there are some songs that sound... I don't know, clean yet unfinished. And Crazy Chocobo is interesting, but gets particularly annoying when you're trying to avoid fighting and you have go a really long distance (such as Noel's place in like 7000 ad)

Actually no, I still 9 is far more fantasy than 10, actually. 10 is far more ahead in technology, and while 9 does have widespread airships, the main world (outside of a few places) doesn't have widespread tech like televisions. Meanwhile in X, everyone can use spheres, if they have one, cameras exist, and a lot of other things. Ten has advanced tech, it just isn't widespread. Bevelle is really futuristic, if you think about it, you just can't see it well past religious fanatics. All by one of the Square Enix people (forgot who) FF9 is considered the quintissential Final Fantasy. Any of them really. I just see remixes of the instrumental tracks and end up being interested in them. 3 minutes ago, Scarlet said: To each their own, but Crazy Chocobo was a joke really Well lik I said, I enjoy it, in all actuallity, but having it on a loop while going through a place it takes me like at least thirty minutes on chocobo to go through is annoying. i do ejoy the cooler themes for chocobos provided by FF13. Needs less vocals though.
