Realistically how is everyone feeling about the new music? Is everyone like "this is going to change the world etc" or are you lot approaching with caution, or what? I'm really looking forward to it, I guess I'm prepared for the fact that it might not be quite what I want, but at the same time I don't really know what I want. I suppose I mean that I've always thought she'll go off on strange directions with her music, and I've always known that some of those directions won't be for me, but I believe in her right to do that and her ability to do it well.

None of that makes any sense does it.

Well this is the thing, I'm prepared not to like whatever she does, but still be interested in it. And I don't think there are many artists like that. I mean I didn't like The Jazz Album but it was still obviously a good thing, and the mere fact that she did it was interesting in itself. And I know that you can't go "I like Lady Gaga because she does unexpected things and breaks boundaries" and then go "I don't like this because it's unexpected and breaks boundaries". I mean if she does something and it's bad then that's a different conversation, but if she does something and I don't like it, that's fine.

(Obviously I would prefer to like it.)

I guess there are a lot of mixed feelings. I'm sure the majority of the fanbase wants another Pop album but she has been hinting at Rock many times (maybe psychedelic, considering the people she works with). And the fact that she is much more politically active than she used to be makes it seem like it is going to be an album with a positive message for the world (i.e. Born This Way).

Okay this is getting out of hand, like seriously everyone can't be wrong :saladga:

I mean, something must be happening and it's happening SOON (not Gaga soon, real soon)

When I wake up one morning, log in to GGD and see the headline "Gaga announces new single", I will die, I will seriously die :air:

That's interesting. I guess the important thing is that the sound she goes for is one that she feels artistically drawn to, rather than commercially compelled to follow. So if she makes a metal album (I've always thought she'd make quite a good metal album) that would make sense. If something comes out and it just sounds like DJ Snake and Flume and Major Lazer and it leaves you thinking "hang on, this just sounds like this to get good airplay and streaming numbers", that would be pretty disappointing. But I think she's smarter than just chasing short-term trends.

Levine

They're talking like the single is coming THIS Friday, because for a 19 or 26th single it all seems too premature to talk about.

I don't know...

EDIT: oh, never mind.

Exactly what I am thinking. She has to make something more impactful and drift away from mainstream Pop in my opinion.
