She probably likes the song and i know when people get out of relationships its not like "Oh this song really connects to how i'm feeling, wow!!" its usually just painful, not artistic. Well I believe Gaga chooses these songs because she believes in their message. Imagine = Gaga has always stood for peace and hope for humanity. New York New York = Gaga is the embodiment of New York pop culture and loves to pay tribute to her city.
