It is what it is really, she was still a part of an amazing song that's done great things and has spread a lot of awareness  Let's hope Diane can go out there and bring that Emmy home

Only last year she won the first ever Contemporary Icon Award for her writing skills. I know she could snatch an Oscar/Emmy nom without forcing it by saying half truths and let herself be exposed by other salty artists. it wasn't her time just yet.

 

She said it several times in interviews, even before the Linda Perry thing. She said the song was almost ready when she got into the project but she made a few changes in the writing and had a great impact on the production.

We know that, we're talking about her position as (main) writer in the song credits (which naturally contradicts her statements).

The song had all this impact thanks to Gaga, the main singer should always be nominated because is who gives life to the song, + Gaga worked on the production, anyways Emmys are irrelevant

I did some more research and websites are reporting different orders, so now I don't know anymore. Maybe the confusion comes from BMI using alphabetical orders or whatever, the Oscars for instance credit Diane as main writer, not Gaga.

So yeah, turns out that's not an issue. Though the argument about her being given a songwriting credit at all instead of it just being a production one (which would perhaps lessen the chance of award noms because producers aren't nominated) is still valid.

Yes, I think the sites that say her name first do it because it's Gaga, her name is more known and all... But she's always made it clear that Diane was the main writer. I don't see why she shouldn't get a songwriting credit when on her own songs, she gives credit to a lot of songwriters even if they didn't take a big part in the songwriting.

quite an accomplishment if true 

the only song to do that in the same year, not the only song overall. Usually songs get into the nomination cycles in two different years due to different eligibility dates for different awards.

people just have to get over the fact that Gaga didn't write the song... she made some minor changes and got her fair share in writing credits. She got on Oscar nomination for it, and nobofdy was unfair to her.

that wouldn't make much sense.... in that case, actors should get awards for direction, models should get awards for photography etc.

Then she shouldn't have submitted herself as a main writer when in paper she just rewrite 10 percent of the song.  

And as I stated before maybe she only did that to help Diane get her Oscars by boosting the song promotion using her brand name, but at the end of the day that good action to help a friend is only hurting her credibility as a songwriter.

She didn't lie per se, but at the same time she didn't collaborated enough to be nominated for the writing process and knowing her and her history of being fair on work recognition I'm pretty sure she was very aware of that.
