She used the correct definition of feminism frequently, so no she doesn't. That song is not about feminism anyway, so your replies make no real sense here. Don't take the title of it so literally. "I'm reppin' for the girls who taking over the world Help me raise a glass for the college grads" "This goes out to all the women getting it in, You're on your grind" "How we're smart enough to make these millions Strong enough to bear the children Then get back to business"

Go on her website and see what she has said about the police brutality, and the steps that are needed to be taken, and then she literally gave us those steps etc. I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill. StrawberryBlond 14,862
I think you're reading a bit too much into this. Most black people will have a natural inclination towards black rights, naturally. When you're an oppressed group, you will look for ways to exalt your people. But honestly, how is anything Beyonce did pre-Lemonade so race focused? All her videos would be no different if she was white. Single Ladies is just a dance video, nothing racial about it. And its dance moves were inspired (basically ripped-off, more like it), from Bob Fosse choreography that was made and performed by whites. How is this dance supposed to be attractive to blacks? It's just a dance! You're relying on a stereotype of what black dancing looks like and mistaking it for something race specific. And the video for Ring The Alarm had nothing to do with a comment on police brutality, it was just a woman being held in prison presumably for doing something terrible to her philarandaring lover and it was totally inspired by Basic Instinct - that's all anyone said when she was in that white dress in the chair. Run The World is supposed to be a feminist anthem (but fails completely, but that's another story), nothing more. And plenty of black artists have used an urban hood setting for a video at some point, to portray the feel of urban music better. Not so much support, just an aesthetic. Then you add in how Beyonce relaxed her hair for years before now and had a nose job in the hopes of attaining more of a white-featured face and judging by how her colour had changed over the years, might have done skin lightening. Her skin's definitely been lightened for magazine covers before. To do all this and then proclaim she was proud of her black looks in Formation, I was just like, girl, get real. I'm not saying she was never "pro black," but she sure didn't support them to the extent she does now. She became more vocal when the time was right, you might have noticed. There wasn't a cheep out of her back in the days before there was Black Lives Matter and race being the massive social conversation it is now. She's an opportunist, taking advantage of people, music and movements as and when they suit her, to make her popular and relevant throughout the years.
