Why are most popstars forgettable

Why are most of today's popstars very forgettable. Throughout the year many popstars and or famous mainstream music stars have been releasing songs and yet nobody seems to care about them. The songs just get released on the radio, they become popular for a month or two, and then everyone seems to forget about the songs and the artists and move on to the next thing. At Gaga's peak, whenever she released something is was an event. People talked about all aspects of Gaga's artistry (music, fashion, performaces, music videos, ect.) for months.

I've noticed that too. None of the new popstars of 2015-16 seem to last, they're all one hit wonders. Probably because they don't have the range

Cause most pop stars are a marketing plan. Only true talent lasts :firega:

This is exactly why Gaga branches out into different categories of art like acting and even going into Jazz. And it also helped that she has the range & talent to do these things.

Averagely-talented pop stars can never achieve Gaga's type of success & acclaim

Because they were not born to be brave. Or maybe they were but they chose the fame over pop and art.

Shadow

The usual manufactured stuff is short, sweet, and dispensible, since demographics for them shift and change. Remember, the common audience for pop music is teenagers who get older and hold in high regard the idols of their youth than new acts since they tend to get busy with life and the new generation comes along, providing another ripe demographic to market to, who might have different tastes and favorites. For example, look at the child stars Disney markets for children, the audience grows up with them singing, dancing, or acting. The target audience gets familiar with the child to teenage star, which make them prime candidates for new pop stars. That cycle seems to go by faster as you get older and as more people enter the market by sheer volume. Your idol stays with you, while others become passing interests. And not all performers can capitalize on the huge promotion machine that companies like Disney has.

Do your own research.

Funny how you're only willing to mention Gaga's peak.

Because I am comparing peaks to peaks. But even now, she probably has gotten more headlines this year than most artists

That's not really what you're doing but ok :chica:

I get your point and I agree, it's just annoying to me that you always have to bring things back to Gaga's peak and how that so vastly outshines everyone else, after 300 threads about that we get it, don't worry.

Anyway, the only pop star who is evading that current you're talking about this year imo is Beyoncé. Can't think of anyone else indeed, but I expect that will change when Katy and Taylor will start releasing.

I like your new avatar btw :gaycat:
