Making Mashups in Audacity!

1. Get an instrumental and acapella for 2 songs of your choice. If you can't find any instrumentals or acapellas, you can easily filter them with the Isolate Vocals or Remove Vocals option in Vocal Isolation and Reduction.

2. Find the bpm of the songs at songbpm.com or use Mixmeister BPM Analyzer.

3. Select your acapella or instrumental and use Change Tempo. Example: Beats per minute from:  [the acapella/instrumental song's bpm] to [other song bpm]

4. Move the acapella around with the Time Shift tool until it fits with the instrumental.

Its possible to mashup two songs from differente keys(don't know their names, but those like C major and all those)?? Like the megamix andhutchh made, there are different songs yet they sound cohesive... or at least doesn't sound like hard cuts??

You can pitch the acapella/instrumental to a certain key in audacity

Well like Ryan Sok said, you can pitch bend it, but to my ears it's obvious and sounds worse (e.g. Gaga sounding like a mouse or a toad, depending on which way the pitch is bent.) You could try mixing relative majors/minors, like Cm with Eb or Fm with Ab, or maybe in some circumstances perfect fourths and fifths (F G for C major, etc.)

Your tutorial is no where good for beginners. Like I'm being harsh but you know. :flop:

It takes a lot more than moving tracks using time shift etc.

@DanceInTheDark you're a legend xx pls do an actual tutorial
