ReidOne 12,427
I say, yes It seems like this song gets SOOOO much hate around here and I don't understand it. Sure, I get that allegedly Gaga wanted "Aura" as the lead single, but let's be honest... that would not have been a wise choice for a Top 40 radio comeback single. "Appaluse" is a banger and it was the perfect song for the job. Not only that, but it's one of the most perfect recordings in her entire catalog if you ask me. Gohan 16,440
Yes, the video and the production + Bowieish vocals are underrated af tryna go ask Alice, tryna catch that rabbit
Music 15,215
i don't think it receives much hate here? a lot of people claim it as their favourite from ARTPOP and still to this day say it sounds "fresh". OT: it is a great song but it obviously got pushed aside since it was released at the same time as Roar; but it is her most played Spotify track and has a great accompanying music video. nevertheless, if Do What U Want wasn't mistreated and pushed through to the Top 10, i would of said that is her best Top 10. IT DESERVED TO SMASH.
Fernster7 7,922
Applause is a really fun song, I like the feeling of happiness that invades you when you listen to, definitely not appreciated enough. Monsters never die.
Guest
It's a great song and it definitely deserves more praise. A real timeless pop song.
ComeToMama 4,351
Applause is a Gaga masterpiece. The instrumental alone should have won a grammy, it is pop perfection. The HUGE chorus is one of her best, its a banger. The audience cheering in the last chorus, uhhh its just perfect. Idk how the GP didnt appreciate this song a little more. Adammmm 968
It's actually in my top 5. Every time it comes on shuffle, I have to replay it like 3-5 times before I move on to the next song.

JGD 12,023
The delusion of those that think Aura would've been a better lead single Applause is one of her best songs, yes. I think it wasn't as appreciated by the GP because it was "cool to hate on Gaga" during that era, and some even thought it was very egotistical of Gaga to release such a song. They simply just didn't understand the meaning of the song.

One of the things I love most about this songs is that, despite the fact that I've listened about 450,000 times, it NEVER gets old. To this day. How does a song, so laden with simple hooks, not get old? It's magic. This track is pop perfection.

Lord Temptation 11,209
It's definitely top ten. It gets better with age too. Was too ahead of it's time in 2013. It sounds sadistic, lonely and rapturous.

I love the following lyrics: "If only fame had an IV, baby, could I bear being away from you. I found the vein put it in here." When I first heard that verse back in 2013, I screamed with joy like a teenage girl! LOL!!! As of today, Applause is my most played song, according to iTunes. I didn't think Born This Way would be dethroned, but our good sis, Applause, came in and snatched its weave!!! I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.
