I still think it's staged and nothing productive, like how do you judge people you met 2 hours ago?

Skills cannot be judged within 5 minutes and woman's skills are what? Walking like they have problems with their limbs and faking a smile to look sincere for 5 minutes? Having a clean face with no blemishes and look conventionally beautiful? Answering exactly 1 question about anything that they've prepared beforehand? Looking good and thin in a bikini, a night gown and a custom dress designed to represent their country? Being tall enough to be beautiful?

I don't think a beauty pageant really represents a real woman.

Most beauty pageants go on for weeks.  They have pre-pageant activities where contestants engage with charities, fans, other contestants, the media, and even members of the beauty pageant's organization.  During the span of these few weeks, contestants are watched and judged.  During the preliminary competition, contestants are judged not only by their swimsuits and evening gowns, but they also undergo an interview with the preliminary judges.

During finals night, a new set of judges judge the top contestants that were chosen by the preliminary panel.  However, the organization pretty much has a favorite after pre-pageant and preliminaries.  So, they sort of "hint" their ideal winner(s) to the final judges.  The winner is then given the responsibility of spreading awareness and helping out to different communities/societies/nations that need help, as well as bringing awareness to whatever issue they are campaigning for.  For example, the current Miss Universe wants to bring awareness to HIV.

You only answered to 1 of my 7 questions and I still don't think what the judges think they've seen is all that is of a contestant. People can fake their actions for months or years if they want something.

It's just a poor excuse to sell women's bodies in a business form. It's just a way to objectify women and tell them they're only beautiful when they behave like the winners.

Oh, another question. Why does a skillful, beautiful, strong woman has to only be single? Can't she be married to be smart and beautiful?

Organizations also keep a close eye on local pageants from other countries.  From the very beginning, you are already being watched.  So it's pretty much hard to fake (and your true colors would eventually show).

Now while I do agree that it may be an excuse to sell these women's bodies to the media, more good comes out from these pageants (namely Miss World, Miss Universe, and Miss Earth).

I don't know the exact reason why married women can't join (other than most women don't wed until their late 20s; contestant age requirements range from 18 through 26/27), but they have very rigorous travel schedules, and could affect their relationships - especially since the winners usually temporarily resides in the country in which the organization is based in during the course of their reign.

Still, doesn't answer my question as to why do they have to be conventionally beautiful to be beautiful? They have to be tall enough, thin enough, have all the arms and legs, have no blemishes? And why do they have to be single, only? Is it necessary?

Married women can't do charity works? Handicapped women can't be smart? Women with deformations or disease can't bring awareness to anything?

Most beauty pageants run on society's standards of beauty.  And not all contestants are blemish free.

As for the rest of your questions, maybe you should ask the organizations, and not users on a fan forum for a pop star. Does it look like I work for them? :laughga:

:koons:

You seem bothered by the existence of beauty pageants.  Really though, no one really pays attention to them, unless you're a fan.

The article sounds like they dethroned her because they did not like the guy she was having sex with. They did say they were ok with sex but not her relationship. It was as if because the guy she had sex with had a "look of delight" on his face. :wtf: Honestly, what was the guy's reaction supposed to be? Scared? Lol.

As if they were rooting for her to have sex with a different guy and when she did not, they took her title. :toofunny:

It almost comes across that they dislike her for having slept with a scaffolder, as if beauty pageant winners can only have sex with a certain social status :emma:
