Poissonche 12,365
Today, Canadian singer Béatrice Martin, known by her stage name Coeur de Pirate, came out as queer in an open letter. This follows the Orlando shootings from last weekend. She had already hinted it the day following the tragedy on a post on Instagram: "One of my first crushes was a girl and the second she heard about it, she started ignoring me. For anyone, that’s traumatizing. I resented the fact that liking someone of the same sex was not widely accepted. I settled for a heterosexual lifestyle because I was scared of rejection. After years of being awkward both in bed and in relationships, I settled down, buried all of my feelings deep inside, had a kid, and thought things were going to be alright." Lol It's an umbrella term for a sexual orientation that's not heterosexual or homosexual. I think it's similar to bisexual and pansexual.

LaLuna 12,732
To be honest I never would've guessed... She has a daughter and everything, but then again, she mentioned that like so many others, she had decided to hide her sexuality for fear of being rejected. But congrats to her for coming out though
Redstreak 6,653
Queer is just an umbrella term for anything non-cishet Anyway good for her. I loved her last album. Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~
Oriane 21,176
To me queer is just part of the LGBT, you're just not straight. I'm French and I know her but I don't know what it is for other countries. The only GGD member who can read / Credits to Celloo Deng for the profile pic! SKANK 14,288
Congrats to her! Unrelated side note. Does anyone know the name of a french female indie pop singer who has a music video where she is dancing on a giant box? Female Stromae kind of vibe? I saw the video a while ago and can't quit remember who she is. Can anyone help?
