He is absolutely right. I would have done the exact same thing. I have done it when talking about it with my family. It is out duty to the ones who lost their lives yesterday, not to allow people invisibilize homophobia in front of us.

OMG! I actually agree with the two people who weren't the gay guy. We shouldn't be dwelling on what to call the shooter because we can't read his mind. What we should look at is the bigger picture. Hate crimes, terrorism, and gun control because that seems to be a reoccuring theme in America. I keep telling people: this is not a gay thing. This is not a people of color thing. This is not a woman thing. This is a human thing. I'm black and gay but **** that. That **** shouldn't define me. At the end of the day we are all humans and should be treated and protected as such. I don't want to be protected because I'm gay or black. I want to be protected like a human being should be. A human should never have the right to kill another human being unless you are in immediate danger.

I see both points of view here regarding this. Both are valid. 

What threw me off what the the older host denied that it was an attack on LGBT people - how can anyone deny this? What also threw me off was how the other host kept using 'lunatic' and suggested the younger journalist thought he had ownership of this tragedy because it took place in a gay club. I would've destroyed those two hosts if I was him. DESTROYED.

This was a blatant attack on the LGBTQ+ community, I can't see how anyone could argue against that. People need to realize that LGBTQ+ discrimination is first of all real, and secondly, a gigantic issue. This community has gone through so much sh*t and to know that people out there are disgusted by our very existence is both sad and infuriating.

This attack was a result of three major factors:

1) Homophobia

2) Islamism

3) Assault Rifle Access

The hosts were attempting to analyse the attacks as part of the larger narrative on Daesh attacks on Western values: bar culture, concerts, acceptance of the LGBT+ community. They weren't arguing that the attack was not rooted in homophobia (the lady acknowledges this several times). 

Owen Jones walked out not because they refused to acknowledge that this attack was targeted at the LGBT+ community, but because they decided to include the Daesh Islamist narrative in the discussion. Rather than debating in an adult manner whether considering the attack as an Islamist attack somehow detracts from the attacker's homophobia, he walks out like a spoilt kid throwing a tantrum.

I don't like that part considering that Jews are victim is often downplayed. (e.g attack on kosher supermarket, jewish museum etc.)
