He's mixed for seemingly everyone and has some incredible albums under his belt. I'm fairly sure he's mixed for Gaga before. This is a great thing. EDIT: Yes, he mixed Bad Romance and Telephone. I honestly don't have any idea of what difference having a certain person as your mixer makes; as long as they are highly reputable, professionals in the industry or breaking into, does it matter who one chooses? Can anyone elaborate? Thanks I mean, not really. You wouldn't listen to a record and go "Ah yes, Stent definitely worked on this" as you would possibly be able to with a producer. But you can definitely tell a good mix vs a bad mix, so like you said as long as they're good and professional then it doesn't really matter. People who are reducing him to simply a Madonna collaborator ---- have several seats. His work is far reaching and prolific, far beyond his Madonna tracks. As a reminder to Gaga fans, he mixed both "Bad Romance" and "Telephone". I've always felt as if Gaga hit her career peak because of him. Please god, let this news be true!!!!!!!!!! I believe the process goes something like this (very simplified): 1. Songwriters write the song 2. Producers build the rough framework of the music track 3. Vocalist adds the top line 4. Producer and engineers tighten the various recordings (vocal track, drum track, percussion track, rhythm track, etc...) into a final "song" 5. Mixer takes the song and adjusts all the audio levels, tightens up the edits, moves certain sounds to the forefront (and others to the background) and perfects the timing of the "build ups" into a tight package. Essentially the person responsible for making a song "radio-friendly". The mixer is the one who makes a song go from "good" to "amazing." They are the ones who elevate a regular album track to a single-worthy track. Just look at the liner notes of all your favorite pop albums. More often than not, the album tracks were mixed by some generic person (usually someone from the producer's camp), but the singles were mixed by a well-known name in the industry (who is far more expensive to hire, and is only brought in for the single-worthy songs). They also tracklist theI album as well. Which actually Gaga is executive with everything. Shes involved in the entire process. Even mixing. I remeber for ARTPOP she said, she tracklisted it the way she wanted which is why ARTPOP sounds very connected like if you listen to it from Aura-Applause, its very fluid and sounds like its telling a story from beginning to end. So let's not forget Gaga is apart of the entire process of making the album. Even mixing. The only thing she isnt apart of, is shipping the album to the stores worldwide and what not.
