Which one is more "ART" to you?

To me, it's clearly the first, and it's ironic that in ARTPOP, her performance became less "high art".

TFM was wayyyyyyy more artistic.

ARTPOP had a lot of references to part art, but it lacked the originality that TFM had.

IMO The Fame Monster but I think you just chose a meh performance for ARTPOP. I think her ARTPOP performance on the tonight show is a better representation of ARTPOP's artistic performances

By more "art", you mean more avant-garde? In that case, TFM is a far better choice.

Though for ARTPOP, I think her intention was entirely different. It was to caricaturize POP, rather than seem like above it.

I agree w/ you but a reference for the sake of a reference, or a clumsy reference looks cheap imo.

Lyrics like "I want your Psycho, your Vertigo shtick, want you in my Rear Window" is pure pop perfection.

Didn't she say that it was the only way to 'involve' the fans into the performance?? :laughga:

Both are art to me. There's not one that's 'more art'.

The hardest thing in this world is to live in it

In a way I do mean avant garde, but even moreso original, impactful and clean.

I understand the message which ARTPOP, but on the surface, it made everything look "cheap" even though it was intentionally a caricature. An example from another star could be Kanye's Bound 2 video - I mean it was art directed by Nick Knight! - as a parody, but the general public just saw it as cheap.

I just feel as if after Dada left, and a lot of her team, she is surrounded by "Yes" people.

E.g. the guy who made the Judas single said to take a picture of something on Microsoft Word was a "**** you" to an era of digital editing - no it's not, it just looks cheap.
