AP delegate tracker has her at 2383 now, reaching the number needed to win the nomination. For now. They can change. This is going to help Bernie tomorrow. Luiz 4,253
the california primaries havent even happened and you announce it now? why the hell wouldnt you wait until after the vote to make it known who is going to win. if you wanted to "unify" the party then why would you do this and give bernie supporters more reason to be angry?it gives them a reason to accuse her of corruption. nothing positive could come from this especially when you're in the position that hillary is in where she has it locked up regardless. is whoever released this info doing it on purpose just to create even more animosity between their supporters? I disapprove of what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it.

They could easily change their minds if Sanders has enough votes tomorrow night? This just seems super unprofessional. I don't understand why they would say she's "clinched" it. She's met the threshold for now. Their votes can still change. Well yes...theoretically. There are 813 delegates remaining, 83 of which are superdelegates. That means there 813-83 = 730 pledged delegates remaining up for grabs. Of those....600 are in NJ and CA alone. Hillary has 290 more pledged delegates than Sanders. So in order for him to catch up to get the same number of pledged delegates, he'd need (730-290)/2 + 290 delegates. That's 510 delegates to Hillary's 220. So that means he needs 510/730 of the remaining delegates, or 70% of them. Realclearpolitics shows that the polls have Clinton winning NJ and California., the former by over 20 points. Sanders may win tomorrow by a very slight margin in CA as they poll similarly enough within the margin of error, but he's likely to lose by a landslide in NJ and stay barely floating in the other states. So the odds of that Sanders beating her in pledged delegates are basically nil. ----- The superdelegates are not likely to change their minds in favor of Sanders. In fact many have defected from him. Hillary is almost certain to stay in the lead in pledged delegates and the popular vote, she still polls well vs Trump (double digits at this point) and is a trusted member of the Democratic Party. ---- AP is the one who claimed she clinched it, not her, but she did technically. I called her response to this before Hillary made her statement though. She doesn't want this to be news just yet. This will discourage voters and effectively hand the win to Sanders. She needs them all to go out there, because winning California is symbolic. In any case, she has not only met the threshold, but she's likely to surpass it by more than 300 pledged delegates. That's far better than what Barack did Edited just now by LebaneseDude.

Goosey 3,017
She has not "clinched" anything. She's only ahead thanks to the undemocratic superdelegate system that is designed to keep the establishment in power. There are 6 primaries tomorrow, with 694 delegates. They haven't even done California yet. "I am the world's greatest person that does not want to let people into the country."—US President Donald J. Someone who supports the GOP has no right to talk about undemocratic voting principles In some states, the people's vote is irrelevant because they vote for someone who then votes for them and they have no way of knowing if that vote will change She's ahead because of the democratic primary voting system. The only reason Sanders is remotely close is because of caucuses which are grossly undemocratic. In fact if the Democratic Party followed the GOP "winner takes all" system, Hillary would have won ages ago Stop Edited just now by LebaneseDude.
