Bryan Singer wants a solo film for Mystique!

director Bryan Singer thinks another longtime franchise character deserves their own movie: Mystique. Find out more after the jump.

I think [Mystique’s] right for [a standalone], whether it’s Jennifer [Lawrence] or not. She has this different view of the world. Xavier can get into Cerebro and look at the world but he’d rather just teach classes and see the beauty of mutants and humans co-existing in his mansion in Westchester. Along comes Raven with a reality check on the state of the world. It opens up a lot of avenues.

I am certainly here for it! The internet is not very happy with this intention though, they think Mystique isn't huge enough for a solo film. I mean Gambit has one, Doctor Strange has one, Ant-Man has one, what makes Mystique, arguably the second or third biggest character after Wolverine and Charles Xavier in X-Men not qualified?

This is not a confirmation though, it's just Bryan expressing his intention.

I think Storm would make much more sense...and they could even go back to the time line of the first 3 movies, which would be nice, you know...picking up where the third movie left off, Storm as the head of the institute, recruiting new ppl, there's a nod to Magneto reacquiring his powers in the end of the third movie as well, we're are at the perfect time for a black female lead in a movie like this (let's forget about the mess that was Catwoman)...

However I must say I love the first 3 movies and I like first class a lot, but that's it...the solo movies and the latest full cast movies are underwhelming to me...

ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

Nopeeeeeee. And much as I love this series the just screwed up her and Magneto.

They are bad guys. Well not so much Magneto but Mystique IS. Yes she's been a part of the x men but it's only ever been briefly and it was for other reasons.

Sorry if this sounds offensive but of all the male actors in X-Men, I don't get why you find Nightcrawler appealing. :emma:

Like have you not noticed Ben Hardy (aka Angel)?

I don't agree. They have introduced Mystique a lot in the recent X-Men movies and people are familiar with her. Storm has been absent in several films (or had relatively smaller roles) in the later films. I think she has lost some popularity especially after the decision to replace Halle Berry whereas Mystique had been consistently portrayed by Jennifer Lawrence for many years, not to mention her roles had always been big. It would make much more sense to introduce a character familiar to us.

It's the fact he's a blue skinned demon boy. I WANT ALL OF THAT SIN.

He's cute but... no. I don't like baby faces on bowflex bodies. either be a dragon ball character/scary bowflex guy or be the sweet shota ukey twinky bottom. He can't be both.

HIS BODY DOESN'T MATCH MY FACE. MY MIND DOESN'T LIKE THE MATH.

Also i'm not much of one for muscles. I mean I like them, but not to the point it's showy. Broad back, nice shoulders, good. You don't really need an 8-pack. I prefer swimmer builds and that type of stuff.

My god i think his neck is thicker my thigh.

Lmfao, okay. I don't like overly muscular men too but Ben Hardy seems fine to me.

Maybe so. I guess what I'm trying to say is, ok, maybe J.Law's Mystique would make more sense in a solo movie commercially, but I don't think it would make the best movie. Maybe it's just me, but there are other characters I'm more interested in...though I like the idea of the movie adopting Mystique's hero/villain perspective.

It could work; it could even be very good, and it will do well enough because of J. Law's magnanimous personality tbh :laughga:

The really important, but unrelated, question is why hasn't Black Widow gotten her own movie yet :neyde:

私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから
