Ubisoft and their downgrades.

It is worth mentioning that these don't happen only with Ubisoft, but they are the biggest offenders.

What happens is basically the developer/publisher of a game shows some stunning footage on E3, but the end product not only fails to reflect what was shown, it is actually an underwhelming downgrade and not only visually-wise, but also in audio quality, simpler physics, textures, script density and others. It basically is fraud that gets a free pass.

This is one of the reasons why I support Ubisoft only by payment through Pirate Bay or Kickass. :gaycat:

The Division downgrade is the most brutal one imo. tumblr_o74x3eFmMo1tl1wfio1_400.gif

Do they ever present the demos as final concepts? I feel like they have great ideas but then the systems can't support a full game with graphics like that.

Many do, though it only happens with bigger name publishers. ubisoft is big, but I think they only care about their big name franchises.

Yes, they do. And that is the problem as it is fraud and fake advertising. They are very well aware that PSX or XboxX won't be able to support those graphics but they keep up with this anyway.

.Far Cry and Rainbow Six are two of their big franchises and their downgrades are actually even worse than the Division.

What about PC masterrace?

I actually don't know much about gaming. That sucks that the previews aren't accurate.

I'm not really into Ubisoft's work fortunately. i think I have a few of their games, but only because they published them. Not because they actually worked on them.

At least Square Enix doesn't lie. The FF series has suffered with the past few games but there have been no lies about graphics!

PC master race is fine where it is, on Reddit. Although technically a PC that is equipped with sufficient hardware can easily pull off those graphics and more. I'll give you two examples if you are interested although it is best to focus on the matter at hand - how E3 and initial reveals are filled with fake advertising:

Spoiler

1. The Witcher 2 and the initial presentation. The game arrived as it was at the time as it was a PC exclusive. Then there came The Witcher 3 which got a downgrade because it was multiplatform. As a PC player of that game, thankfully there are advanced options that partially fix it and ENB mods that make the game exactly as it was in its initial presentation.
2. Star Citizen. Take a look at how the game looks. It is a PC exclusive and so far one of the finest demonstrations of what PCs are capable of.

Me neither. The few games I've played from them literally feel like plastic, if that makes sense. There is no fun whatsoever in their games, no incentive to keep playing.

I wouldn't know about SE when it comes to FF. But I do know that they didn't downgrade (Rise of the) Tomb Raider so they are good in my book. Looking forward to FF15 coming to PC also.

I don't know, I remember watching the original Watch Dogs gameplay reveal live, that downgrade was brutal as ****.

I've recently finished a third party game of theirs. Might and Magic clash of heroes. It was nice but predictable and boring and rather short. Though it was for the ds.

Well I don't watch much of E3 either, but FF keeps up their graphics.  Or tries their best.

I think everyone is looking forward to FFXV. Though I think it's because we're hoping for something better than 13.

That's why I never buy games on the release day. Stuff like this is the reason why my brothers changed from consoles to PC.

The fact that someone actually took time to replicate the demos though. :saladga:

Brutal indeed but dude, Rainbow Six and Far Cry 4 are barely the same video game as their reveals. :deadbanana:

Good old Might and Magic. I used to play that myself though not actually that, but Heroes of Might and Magic, up to the fifth game. They took complete control of the franchise at that point and now it is ****.

I am not aware of what is up with 13. :emma: 15 just looks quite impressive to me. And after they revealed that the FF7 remake will be episodic, even more reason to anticipate 15.

Praise to Bethesdaddy for not beefing up the Fallout 4 presentation at E3. :worship2:

Can't wait for more trickery and drama this year.

I think that PC suffers the most from this, since we get promised something that is totally achievable for our platform and then we get a game that is like two generations behind in graphics. :emma:

And yeah, one can only admire his devotion to exposing fake bitches. :hor:

I remember how that's the reason why the game got quite some flack when it was revealed, they accused it of inferior graphics. And in the end it turned out to be one of the best looking games from that presentation. :emma:

I can't wait for TES6.
