The message in this song glorifies attacks against LGBT (gay and trans) specifically.

It's like, it's totally fine to make games where you shoot Nazis, but it's not ok to make games where you shoot up gay bars because the people in it are gay. Shooting up gay bars because the owner owes you or has been an ass to you is totally acceptable though.

I'm discussing this under the framework of violence in media though. Clearly all of this should not be acceptable but we work with what we got lol  There are limits to how far that can go.

Hate speech against a specific demographic is never acceptable. Hating the entire world is something we all say at least once a week 

he's teaching kids that if someone disrespects you then you must respond with brutal force. this type of attitude is fed to kids as this song was fed to me and contributes heavily to the gang violence and tough guy attitude that people who live in poor communities believe they have to have due to their surroundings and glorification of violence in songs like these. 

now i love the glorification of violence tbh  sorry, i just love gangster rap.

but i honestly believe that songs like this are a huge contributing factor to the thousands of murders that occur every year(maybe even month  ) 

 

btw its not about attacking gay people. its about using homosexuality to insult someone. a person who hears this song wont be inspired to go shoot up a gay club    (trust me, someone who is "hood" wouldnt go near a gay bar even if its to shoot it up)      but they could be inspired by this song to go kill someone who might have disrespected them and call them a fag*ot while they are doing it. it more is something that shapes the culture of poor communities.

 

 

for me the effects of a message of violence are far more impactful in the real world than the message of disliking gay people but their both there and both awful and both greatly entertaining every time i blast this song in my truck  

 

ehh. you have the whole gay rights thing going on since you're gay so you focus on that. i live in a poor neighborhood with gang bangers and gun fire on occasion so i focus more on that.

If I asked a random person on the street what "I don't **** with niggas that think they broads" means, they'd probably tell me that it means he (the rapper) doesn't mess with guys who act like girls. The greater implication that femininity or effeminate behavior in men is WRONG or at least a negative attribute. It's clear as day.

Also, I don't think its problematic to point to a real problem in black urban culture, its not like its considered homophobic for no reason, nor is it "racist" to describe the phenomenon or anything just because it happens involving PoC. Nativism, Racism & Sexism are all very strongly engrained, demonstrable problems that Japanese society face. That's the point though  He is taking this guy he has a beef with down by COMPARING him to things both he and others find to be bad. 

He's calling him effeminate, as an insult. The generalizing of effeminacy (femininity) with homosexuality is what makes it Homophobic AND Misogynistic. If it wasn't unclear, he also says "homo thugs" explicitly to let you know that hes referring to gay people It's seriously "He can't be gay, hes so masculine, or jocky" teas when people gossip, its that basic    

Abouthe black urban culture thing, thanks for checking your privilege  , but I think its okay to speak in a setting like this  I'm definitely not Japanese, but I can still know things about the culture and how it operates, even if its not as objective as someone who is Native born. One should just avoid -splaining, or speaking over those people and differing to people who actually are a part of the culture or experts about the subject as a sign of respect. It's just an example on an internet forum, so I'm not that invested  

Finally, insults and their effects are not required to be direct. Not meaning to offend someone doesn't make it inoffensive. Eminem's beef with, well society and rage (aka women ) is not a direct dig @ women, yet he still manages to consistently not be able to express his ideas and thoughts without resorting to blatant misogyny and homophobia  You don't have to be purposefully targeting a group of people or even a person to hurt them, this should be self-evident by just... life experience?
