TiphEret 1,320 Posted May 23, 2016 Share Posted May 23, 2016 It was an interesting doc even though I don't really like the so called journalism of Vice, because it's about being so on the edge and anti system but at the end it's sort of cynical and you don't know if you can take them seriously. It's great the journalist could speak chinese, I was surprised but she was too subjective also. I was surprised she tried the meat. Regarding the content, I mean I don't see how this any worse than eating any other animal. Yes those dogs are cute, it was heartbreaking to see those image but the arguments some of the people at the meat market brought up are no different than what you will hear here about people who eat meat: "it is our right", "we don't force anyone to eat dog", "we need to make a living". So basically it's cultural. Towards the end one of the guy says that in India cows are scared yet we don't question one second about eating them in most part of the world, and the condition are truly horrible. ALGAYDO 35,091 Posted May 23, 2016 Share Posted May 23, 2016 People are perfectly fine with torturing farm animals for meat and dairy products, are okay with foxes and other furry creatures being skinned alive for fur, are okay with boiling crabs and lobsters while they're still alive, but they'll lose their **** when it's done to domestics animals (dogs, cats, etc.) like, okay...
