Ariana Grande will challenge Drake for #1 on our SPS chart next week; the result will depend on how well Drizzy's streams and track sales hold up in his fourth week. On the sales chart, another battle for #1 could be brewing, the third in as many weeks. While we’re giving Grande for now, Blake Shelton has emerged as a formidable challenger.

You’ll note that the SPS number is now first in the projections. Here are this week's key debuts:

Ariana Grande (Republic) 150-170k SPS, 120-130k album
Blake Shelton (Warner Bros. Nashville) 130-140k, 120-130k
Bob Dylan (Columbia) 36-42k, 35-40k
Eric Clapton (Bushbranch/Surf Dog) 25-28k, 24-27k

I think Blake is going to debut at number one.

No way, he doesn't have streaming.

I'm afraid of Drake.. Please Ari, use your ultimate weapon aka Into You & slay BBMA to come on top :unicorn:

you don't need streaming to be number one! I think streaming is the worst thing to ever happen to the music industry.

It's trying to hide the terrible shape the industry is really in.

Ariana still has Into You performance at the BBMA's to promote the album :applause:  that will probably generate some sales!

Oh no

Drake might snatch. He had 155k streaming last week because it got added to Spotify, literally almost every song is @ 5 million streams already :air:

I think it will drop, along with his physical sales, but will it be enough? Ari better debut at the very top or exceed these predictions

Let me Pray and go do some promo

That's because these ****ing young kids just go and download everything. No one likes to go out and buy the music anymore!!! It drives me nuts, I'm surprise record stores are even still open

Ari, pull thru tomorrow and snatch everyone's wig. Get that well-deserved #1

And streaming is the future, the sooner y'all accept it, the better. :emma:

Hard to tell whose going to get the number one, but Ariana deserves it honestly

although she's currently number one on the itunes charts

True, but most of Blake's fans are probably older and buy CDs.

No but now it helps a lot. Ariana and Blake seem to be selling almost the same amount of physical and digital copies but Ariana is getting way more streaming which could help her a little. Right now Blake only has physical copies as an advantage because Ariana is selling more than him digitally
