Dangerous Man 9,245
Well, I did enjoy her cover of I Want Your Love. This might be a reach, but Gaga has really a very versatile voice, I feel like she can nail any genre and that includes funk/disco. "A little less conversation and a little more touch my body." It's Gaga after all, she can pull of pop, rock, jazz.. why not a more funky sound? As pointed above, she did a fantastic job with "I Wish". As I said, funk music doesn't really allow for big and dramatic melodies. As said in Wikipedia, Funk de-emphasizes melody and chord progressions, and focuses more on the groove. And I love it when Gaga writes songs that sound big, dramatic and emotional, and she's really capable of it. Songs like Bad Romance, despite it being a dance song, that chorus just hits you so hard! 3 minutes ago, Swan Heart said: And I don't we'll be getting any Bad Romance/Judas choreo soon. I thought we all knew this gal is gone for good now. Ok let me hand in my stan card.

Though I personally think that's a bit narrow-minded. A great performance is a great performance, whether it has choreo or not It's not just the performances. The music videos too! I remembered when I first watched the music video for Judas. That choreo slayed me so hard! I just hope I can get that feeling I love most from her again. You know Gaga though! She tries new things, experiments, pushes genres to their limits, blends genres, makes something new and fresh. Maybe her whole goal with the next album is to create funk inspired music that DOES go somewhere, that DOES have drama. We just don't know at this point! Funk is probably a heavy influence, but this is what I really mean when I keep saying that Gaga adds her own touch, flare, uniqueness etc to music. She takes something, breaks the rules, deconstructs it, and puts it back together as something beautiful. We'll just have to wait and see though I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin. LanasNerfGun 4,679
Isn't Fashion! funk-influenced. Retro Dance Freak, Disco Heaven, she's always had a disco 80's influence to her sound so it's nothing new. Besides, with Nile and Ronson on her team I'm sure the results will be worth the wait.
