The reason superdelegates exist to conform to an overwhelming majority you are correct, however Clinton's pledged delegate lead is not overwhelming and may be extremely close after California. If the pledged delegate numbers are close, the superdelegates then become the determining force of the nomination, and they will have to decide between a guaranteed Sanders presidency or a statistical coin toss that could lead to a Trump presidency.

I did a hypothetical delegate count on berniecounter.com

I gave Clinton New Jersey with 55%, New Mexico at 55%

I gave Bernie North & South Dakota at 60%, and California around 55% for him (this is a toss up state, so anything goes really).  But in my hypothetical scenario, Bernie only came out to more than 220 delegates short, which is a wider gap than Clinton & Obama back in '08, yet the superdelegates went from Hillary Clinton to Obama after he got the majority of pledged delegates.  I highly doubt the supers would change their stance.  I feel they most likely care about keeping the status quo than winning the election.  In this case, they rather risk a Trump presidency than a guaranteed Sanders win.  It sounds crazy, but that's just my theory. :laughga:

This official press release says that Bernie accepted an invitation to debate from fox news. Bernie did not call for this debate. Fox news invited both Bernie and Hillary.

Yes but he's asking her to come as well.

Whatever Hillary or Bernie should do is irrelevant, i'm just trying to correct the deceitful title and article.

But it's not deceitful. Jim Weaver is calling for Hillary to attend.
